They told me I was drinking too much water.  After your surgery you are only supposed to drink 1500 mls of water per day which is a 500 ml bottle x 3.  I told them I was drinking aprox 4 per day and they said to cut back.  it washed your food through your pouch to soon.  only drink more if exercising excessively or dehydrated.  interesting , eh?

Thanks for the heads up Patsy.  I will be sure to pay attention to that.  I drink a lot of water - about 2 liters or more a day so I will have to be careful with that.

Water is about the only thing I drink anymore - milk once in awhile. I haven't had carbonated beverages in about 3wks (very hard for me!)..

I'm ALWAYS drinking water.. consequently, going to the bathroom alot more too! haha

I gave up carbonated right after my the first consultation on June 30.  It was hard at first because I had a serious Perrier habit. But I did it and I don't miss it so much now.  I also stopped drinking with meals right away and only drink an hour after eating.  That is still hard sometimes but I can do it now quite easily.

I don't usually drink with meals and in fact, I have tried to drink with meals to up my water intake, but could not quite get the habit. I think I won't have trouble giving up pop. I do like my diet pop but anything flavored makes me happy. Overall, I feel lucky in this department. Now drinking all the water I should will be a challenge. I had an extra water cooler (actually it was in the kitchen but never used) and I have put it in my office.  I don't like water but I HATE city water.

Most of the other stuff is nto a problem but I think my biggest problem will be slowing down my eating speed and chewing properly.  I practice as much as I can and I am not doing so well.  My husband always says I eat too fast so this is going to be a challenge for me.  Drinking water, not drinking when eating those are no brainers but considering how I eat, I can foresee me getting stuck a few times before I get it all down pat.

HI,
The water thing is an excellant point.  This reminds me that once I saw some post somewhere on the "bansters rules".  Have you guys seen this, if not I can go and see if I can find it.  It talks abou****er I think...

or..it was the RNY rules...where I think that drinking with food was also a no no as it washed things through.

Obviously...my mind is mush at my old age...but let me do some research...and might find what I am talking about.

If you bandsters or RNYsters have your rules...maybe it would help to post them.\

Take care,
Catherine

Rinette (dietician) told me at the time of my surgery that I could have 1-2L. 1 works for me :) I'm so not good at the water drinking!
