I got the call first thing this morning at work.  It was from a nurse at the Georges Dumont.  She said can you be at the hospital tomorrow morning for 8 am?  I said yes I can.  She said this is for your surgery with Dr. Beausoleil.  I said yes I thought so.  She said you don't need to fast.  I said I know.  She said and your surgery date will be December 2.  You must be at the hospital on Dec 2 for 6:45 fasting since midnight the night before.  I said thank you very much. And she hung up.  That was it! Short, sweet, too the point... That was it!

I am all over the map right now. Excited, scared, worried, nervous.  I am thinking about the surgery and the tests tomorrow but most of all I am screaming OMG, I am not ready for Christmas and I have to be ready by December 1 because Patsy said I will be sore.  So the tree has to be up for November 30 at the latest.

Hey guys - I am on my way.  Here I go to the losers bench.  I am so glad I found you all on this forum and have had a chance to share what I know and to share how I feel with people who truly understand what it is like to live in this body.  Thanks so much for that.  I will be sure to tell you all about what happens tomorrow.  Wish me luck.

WOW !!!! THAT IS FANTASTIC!!!!  I am just green with envy, pink with pleasure, and jumping for joy!  What a nice surprise for you. isn't it amazing that you wait and wait and it as if you don't expect it to end and BAM, you get a call.    Do you sign the papers tomorrow or have you done that, or is it another appointment??  You just have to go to the ticker factory and do a count down so we can all count down with you!!!   20 days and counting!!

Giggle giggle, that pretty much describes how I have been feeling since I heard.  Kind of hard though because I couldn't act that way in front of my co-workers who think that I am being inconvenienced by surgery at this time of year.  There I was at work, wanting so much to tell all my friends on this forum and I can't go online at work.  It was my first thought after calling my husband -  to come online and tell all my friends.  I was blown away when I answered the phone.  It was almost like it went in slow motion but the call only took about 2 minutes.  Its been nearly 5 years since the first referral and now I feel like I am dreaming.  OMG 20 days!!!!! 20 days!!!!!!   Thanks for being excited for me. I knew you would be. AND...... With you going to your info session in just a few short days it won't be long for you either.  Here we go Charline, here we go.

I remember how difficult it was not to tell my co-workers when I got the call for the consult.  Fortunately, I do have one friend at work who knows my secret and she was excited with me. I think I would have burst without her!!  My DH's reaction was under-whelming, so having a friend allowed me to bubble and bounce

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!  YOU DESERVE IT !!!!  BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR TESTS.  IT TAKES ABOUT 4 HOURS.  AFTER YOU REGISTER, DON'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL YOU GO SEE LISE.  YOU HAVE TO SEE HER BEFORE ANY OF YOUR TESTS.  EVEN IF THEY TOLD YOU OTHERWISE.    REMEMBER.... Patsy,
I swung by your turf today. I have business in the valley in the morning and drive down today.  I thought about you on the way "sort of" by.  As my (superstitious) Mom used to say, were your ears burning?

Thanks for that Patsy.  I will go searching for Lise first once my number is called.  I will go to the other desk and say I have an appointment to see Lise and go from there.  So glad you went through this first so I have someone who can tell me what to expect.  WOW this is amazing.

Do you live far from the hospital? Will you have to stay over night? Tonight? Tthe night before surgery?

I live about 35 minutes away from the hospital.  So its a no brainer to get there.  On the day of surgery my kids will be fighting with each other wanting their Dad to come stay with them and wait rather than hang around the hospital all day.
