What are you looking forward to?
Wow, am I impressed... I better beef up my list too=
-definitely the plane belt- I 've been known to tuck the unhooker belt under my belly rather than ask for the extension.
-to fit in an economy seat in an aircraft
- to not crowd strangers in the next plane seat.
-to not feel out of place in most clothing stores.
-to not have to push myself out of chairs with arms because my butt is wedged in.
-to feel arms all the way around me.
-for bras to be comfortable
-to hike for miles with my hubby. To just hike the Irving Nature Park without it almost killing me!!!
-to keep up with everyone when I travel.
-to not miss out on climbing to the top, as I have at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
-not to feel afraid I won't be able to get back up if I get on my knee in public.
-to feel full and still want to eat
-to buy clothing for one of my daughters & me on the same rack. Only have done that once in my life.
-for the feeling to get better in my feet.
-to not have a fatty liver.
-not to have to inject myself 3 times a day.
-to toss out most of my medications.
-to never be teased as the "Pill lady" again.
-to eat without shame
-to go back to the gym daily. Yes I could go now but I am under doctor's orders not to do cardio and besides, I am so ashamed of myself.
=to buy something kind of sexy and femanine (just for me) at La Senza. I can't tell you how many times I 've felt like crying walking past that store.
-To wear a bathing suit again!!!
-this may sound crazy, but to be teased by my brother about being fat! I' m so big now that he has stopped because it isn't funny any more.
I know I missed so but you ladies have it covered!!

An admirable list and one that can be achieved. Many of your dreams are my dreams too Charline. And that is it - we must keep dreaming and keep our eyes on the prize. Do what our dear doctor tells us to do, follow his insturctions to the letter to make sure we are successful at this. I hate how I look and I want so much to feel good in my body. Thanks for sharing Charline. It has helped change the focus.

Wow, what a great topic. A nice relief from worrying about what the future holds but that's another topic. I had a gift certificate for Pennington's and thought I had better use it before I won't need it anymore so I bought myself some nice pajamas. When I returned from the car, I said to my husband, not even thinking, geez, I'm glad I don't have to go into that store anymore. He, being the lest in tune person at times, said what do you mean, you're never going in that store again? I looked at him and said because it's a fat ladies store!! (sorry hope I don't offend anyone here!) He was thrilled beyond belief because one, he hates it when I call myself fat and two, he's glad that I'm so determined to get my life back again! So here goes with what I am looking forward to, keeping in mind that they've been pretty much covered by everyone else:
1. walking my dog
2. walking my dog again
3. walking my dog once again....the message being, if I can walk my dog, I can do anything else!
Now that we have that out of the way, the finer things in life would be nice.
4. walking up stairs
5. getting through the grocery store all the way without having to sit or go to the car
6. having my IBS not rule me
7. being in charge of my body and not my body in charge of me
8. not having to always be aware of the need to find a place to sit
9. not having any further back problems
10. not having to beg for back massages from hubbie
11. crossing my legs
12. sitting on knees
13. being able to exercise again
14. being able to go to the pool and swim
15. being able to swim in my daughter's pool with my grandchildren
16 being able to play with my grandchildren and not just sit and watch them
17. visiting my kids and grandkids and not feel embarrassed and not feel that they are embarrassed for me and with me
18. taking all those meds out of my life
19. throwing the diabetic equipment out the door'
20. ceremoniously destroying the CPAP machine
21. seeing me look back from the mirror, not hiding behind some strange form that has taken over the body
22. breathing easy again
23. having my dr say "see ya next year"
24. waltzing with my hubbie all night
25. spooning the old guy, I mean really spooning without a ton of weight between us
26. playing "silly dog" with my silly dog
27. to wear all the nice clothes I have stored in 3 different closets, some which have never been worn
28. to exist without feeling like I'm carrying a 100 lbs on my chest.....imagine being able to shop in LaSenza again!
29. sharing the tub with hubbie again! nice bubble baths, cuddled together in the tub!
30. being proud once again of how I look
31. believing my hubbie when he says I look great!
I could go forever. These are not in any particular order. Some may be more important as
others but I just went with what came to mind! Do you think this could all really happen?

I am a bit new here and I am looking at my first session sometime in Dec they tell me. I have lots of dreams. A year after my surgery I want to be able to play with my 2 beautiful children (Girls age 3 yrs old and 22 mts old) without having to stop or make an excuse after 5 mins down on the floor. I want to be able to get out of this chair at my computer for its the only thing I seem to enjoy for the most part of my free-time. I would want to be able to go for walks with my family, so hiking, camping, swimming without embarrassment of anyone looking at me like I shouldn't be there. I have lots to look forward to--a NEW me!! The reason for me doing this is for me!! Live longer and enjoy life like haven't know it in such a long-long time. I am super excited about me appt, nervous about the whole thing; the procedure of gastic bypass and the aftermath of it all. One thing is for sure I am happy to make it so close to an appt and to be around to get to it. I love this group and all its support and would like to share and read stories as well. I'm done rambling and I am not going to proofread for this is how it came out--my true feelings :) Take care everyone, good luck and congrats to a NEW you. I'm going to read some more notes now. bye bye :)
Hi Debbie,
I loved reading your post. I could tell it was from the heart. I hope you get your call real soon. It does sounds like they are booking the December surgeries, because Ann (realmessy) got her call today. I am praying you are next. Your children and you deserve to have wonderful memories of playing and being silly with Mom. There is nothing else like it.

I second almost everything above with a very important extra thing especially after this past week - if any of our gentlemen are reading this could be TMI so sorry
I am so looking forward to BLADDER CONTROL! It is my hope that my bladder is not permently weakened by my weight (and pregnancies) because I would love to be able to cough, laugh and just live without worrying where the nearest bathroom is or wetting my pants. My youngest son (who is 4) helped me several times this week by brining mommy dry underwear afer having an "accident" - though he did find it funny. I must have gone through 1 and half jumbo bags of super pads. Now trying the Poise pads thanks to Catherine - I remember years ago thinking of getting depends but seems they didn't go big enough.
