HI Guys,

Just wondering if anyone is like me, I'm scared of the mushies stage. Why?

Because blended food just makes my stomach turn. I've been on the lap band forum, looking at what people suggest, like blending ground beef, wong tong soup, etc...and I just don't think I'll be able to do this because it grosses me out.

I'm the type of people who hates slimy food or mixing my food together. I won't even eat ice cream if it's melted..What am I going to do?

I'm not a big fan of mushies either, but you have to get a grip of it early.  they enforce it very strongly. and they will give you examples of people who either skipped this phase or moved on to food to early.  Not good examples either.  I figure you need to try now before the whole process begins.  Before my surgery I tried to get used to yogurt , oatmeal, and a few other things I don't like.  It helped me to mentally prepare for that phase.  It's going to be tough but very necessary.  Practice now !

Tears , you will never change that you DONT like mushies ...but you will have to learn to get by that stage with flying colors ... try baby food ....... it comes in fruit , veggies etc.  I hope that you get through it & I know you will .   Its good to face your fears before hand .

I can remember mushy stage after my dental surgery - wasn't too bad but I like pretty much all food in any stage.

Remeber that your taste buds may change and when it comes to survival your mind is a powerful thing - you will eat to live.

If you don't like the taste or smell of something put a clothes pin on your nose - it is amzing how that works.  Close your eyes and visualize you are eating something else.

Do you like scrambled eggs, bananas, avacodo, cottage cheese, soups?  Just remember that it does not last forever and the results are worth it!
