I'm a big loser !!!
Hi Cat, Thanks for the kind words. Before my surgery I was always looking for posts from recent surgery patients. It helps alot and that's why I tell you guys what I can. I have confided in about 10 people, only those that I knew would be supportive. As for my stomach, the only place that hurts is the incisions. and mainly just the large one where the port is, but that is getting better and better every day. My upper abdomen just below my bra line is tight. This is where all the staples are, but once I stand up and straighten up it's good. I hold on when I get up and down just to secure the area but not because I'm in pain.
As for the hunger, I'm not hungry all the time but it happens like anyone else. the small meals/drinks wear off but the more protein you put in them the longer the full feeling lasts. I find it hard getting the protein in cause it doesn't usually come naturally in what you drink so I find I have to add a protein powder, which I'm not fond of, but it's necessary. But we will get over this stage very soon.
Each phase comes with a light at the end of the tunnel. It's all doable, just some of it is boring. It's hard to get excited about juice, water, boost, soup, jello....after two weeks of it. But I gotta
say, when you are hungry, it all tastes good.
I MISS CHEWING !!!!! but that will be here soon enough.
Well, that's about it for now. Any time anyone wants to ask questions, feel free. It makes me feel good that I'm helping others.
Thanks, Patsy
