Woohoo!  You must feel fab!  Plus if you check out what you have already lost... it is 1/3 of your amount to lose to reach goal already!!!!  Awesome job on losing weight beforehand and for your first week.

That is just so wonderful.  You must be so pleased. My two sisters are not overweight and I know that they just don't understand and certainly don't approve of WLS . Patsy, can I ask you a question.  How do your fellow WW members feel about your surgery?  I go to TOPS and I am afraid that if they found out I had WLS that they might not think it is fair for me to enter the contests if I loose, or worst, that I am not deserving. That is why I am considering not telling them when I have my surgery. What do you think and what oponion do you have about my concerns. Any feedback will be welcomed. Thanks

I haven't told them at WW yet, for the same reasons.  Not sure I will.  But I need them for a diet to follow and a weigh in process.  It's my little secret at this point.  they are suspicious of why I'm losing somuch right now but I told them I had to have surgery and due to my size y doctor put me on a low cal diet to get the weight off before surgery.  That's all they need toy  know for now.  Once my weight starts to level off, I will only be losing 1-3 lb per week which is in line with WW anyway.  Lise told me that the avg weight loss with a band is 2 lbs per week.  So I don't think this will raise any red flags at WW.  I'm feeling great and encourage everyone to keep trucking along on their journey.   I have to admit, I'm getting tired of liquids but only 5 sleeps till mushies !!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for your honesty.  What you are doing is exactly what I was thinking of doing. Is telling everyone worth the critisism.  Some people are just not accepting.  I know for sure some of the ladies in my group will not be. Actually, I have a friend that I confided in and I suspect she feels like I would be cheating too if I continue to go to TOPS.  I guess I will loose the term"friend" loosly if that is what she thinks.  Anyway, I will deal with that problem when it comes. It likely will be another year anyway.  I missed the information session as I had to be in Ontario with my ill sister so I was resceduled for the info. session in February.  I was referred late September and was chosen as one of the next 100 that the Halifax docs will be doing. Don't know about the time line as I missed the info. session. So nothing will be happening for sure until 2009. You sound like such a nice person and I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my query. Regards from Sugarbear.

Wow, Patsy, congratulations!!!! You make me want this more and more.  I have some reservations but only because I'm being a big chicken!  I've had some bad luck with surgery in the last few years, a major infection that just about killed me.  My dr assures me that there is no comparison but I still can't help thinking about the last time I was in the hospital!!  So pls keep sharing your successes...it's really helping me face this.

Patsy you rock!!!! Congratulations, you must feel so good, so proud of your accomplishment!  To have lost so much before the surgery was an achievment on its own but to continue to lose is icing on the cake.  I can only imagine how you are feeling.  I personally struggle for every ounce I lose pre surgery.  My metabolism is so screwed up the minute I reduce food intake it goes in to survival mode and holds on to everything I put in my mouth.  I am down to 1200 to1500 calories per day and exercising every day and I am lucky if I lose a half pound a week.  So although my weight was down last time I went for a weigh in at paper signing - it was not a lot and I am not sure they were too pleased.  Nevertheless I continue to try daily and that is the whole point. Your success with diet and with the surgery thus far inspires me to keep trying and keep doing all I can do to be ready for this.  Please continue to keep us posted on your progress.  Its almost like you are blazing a trail for those of us who are still waiting for surgery.  Congrats again.

Patsy , I am so happy for you , & I can hear the excitement in your words. You are doing great ,& you are going to WIN at this losing game. I have been waiting for a post from you & was glad to see one this morning .  How are  you feeling ?  Is  your stomach sore at all ?  Are  you hungry all the time ?
I too have sworn the 3 people (Family) I have told ; to secrecry about the surgery. I feel like it is my personal business & not the enitire city & everyone in it .  There is always negative remarks when people find out  & I don't want or need any of that.  Its  still hard work getting the weight off.
COngrats on the  big loss ,  happy trails !!
