I know this is probably a stupid question, but I haven't heard back from PN yet, so I'll ask you in case you know....

She mentionned something in her post about Dr. S doing "them" open until he feels more comfortable doing them laporoscopically...is she talking about the DS?  By its very nature, the Lap Band is done laporoscopically, right?  I wouldn't have it done otherwise....

I think it's the way she worded it.

She is getting either the DS or VSG so I think she was talking about the band but then switched subjects on the VSG, thus the confusion.

He told me mine would be done laproscopially. I would sleep there the night before and go home after the surgery.

I think what she meant was he hasn't begun doing the DS laprosocopicaly yet cause he wants more practice.

Nougat sweety, can you confirm?

Sorry about the confusion in my post, and sorry about my late reply - Dr. Savoie does all lap-bands laparoscopically! It's only the VSG and DS that he still does openly. :-) Those are the two procedures that I'm mulling over right now. :-)

I've read that he's done only 12 Lap Bands...does this scare you?

My friend already warned me about the week pre opt freak out.

I'm trying to see it like, ok. Dr. B started somewhere's!

This is what he told me, also.

Well, I don't know if it scares me.  He explained that he's done thousands of DS procedures which are infinitely more complicated that the LB, and in comparison the LB is very straightforward.
