So why are you orwere you overweight?
Are you a sweets person?
A snacker?
A large portion?
A chocolate addict?
I eat large (X-LARGE) portions. I eat mine and the rest of my husband’s. I don’t snack or even like snack foods. I don’t even eat chips (I don’t like them) or drink soda.
I do have a bit of a chocolate thing going during the “time of the month” but my culprit is mostly large portions. The bigger the better – I seem to always be obessing on how big it will be, if I’ll have enough, etc.
What’s YOUR story?
Swear to God reading your story was like reading my story. I do not eat sweets. I like bitter and salty. BUT I eat like a lumberjack. My portions are huge and sometime I do pick off of my husbands plate. So, I am hoping that WLS will be the answer as I will not be able to overeat. I do not eat fruit as I find it too sweet but I do love and eat loads of veggies. Potatoe chips are a red light food for me though. I do eat dark chocolate but not in large quantities and only during that time of the month. So what do you think? Are we alike. Wouldn'td be good for us to eat together as we would be picking off of eachothers plates. Nice talking to you. Cheers, Sugarbear
Haha!
My problem is that my husband hates eating and dosn't eat much. Once he's done he automaticly pushes his plate towards me because he knows I'll eat it (and usually there is still half left). So at dinner, he eats half his plate and I eat a plate and a half.
This is the major reason I choose the band because the over eating is my problem. I find myself obessing at dinner "will there be enough?.
I tend to go out to eat at places where I KNOW the plates are huge. I avoid places where the portions are small, because the bigger the better!
I love Fruits & Vegetable and actually eat them often. I like sweets but i don't feel like I over do it, same with chocolate. I mean there is nothing wrong with eating a bit of chocolate once or twice a month! I do not like patato chips and I am sooooo grateful for that because I know so many folks who eat big bags of chips a day.
Nice to meet you :)

I am the perfect food tester. I went to culinary school because I loved food so much. I am not as fanatical now but the damage has been done. Rich sauces, buttery breads, and hand made chocolates all contributed to my current situation. I have recently admitted to myself that I am a sugar addict. Heck, I'd probably drink syrup if I didn't have any alternative. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to get my RNY sooner rather than later. The sugar is wreaking havoc on my body joints.
Yes to all of the above. I love sweets...I mean L-O-V-E. If it is a really good sweet, maple butter or a very good cheesecake, I sound like Sally in "When Harry Met Sally". I'd say it is better that S** but who can remember S**? I am a grazer, I mean "MOOOO". It usually doesn't take a lot to fill me but I don't stop. The only food that keeps me satisfied for a few hours is a fried or fatty meal. Chocolate? Well the only thing better than cheesecake is Chocolate cheesecake- now that is better than S**. Salty, oh yeah......Chips. I can stop eating chips, when the bag is empty. Soda- let's just say that I don't drink water, tea or coffee. I will take tea or coffee over water. I drink it but I don't like it. I love veggies, fruit, meat...food. I have to stop this, I'm getting hungry!
I was a skinny kid until I was 5 years old. I remember hiding to eat chips (we lived over my Dad's store, so supply was not an issue). I eat when I am depressed, angry, lonely, or any negative emotion. I'm married. so I feel one of those emotions most of the time! Tastey goodies makes me feel good all over. When I am depressed, sweet, salty or fatty foos is the only thing that makes my body feel good. What alcohol did for my mother, food does for me.
Yet I have stuck to very restrictive diets for years. I was vegitarian for 2 years, on doctor's orders. I was almost zero fat for 10 years. BUT like the saying once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic. I am a foodaholic. Yeah, I have a few issues. That's an understatement.

I think mine was part genetics/part sweet lover..
Part of my problem is that I don't eat 3 square meals a day. I might eat 2 if I'm REALLY lucky, but one for sure. I'm pretty much starving my body all these years and it pays me back by storing it all as fat for fear it'll never be fed again! *lol*
I'm not big on huge portions or a ton of sweets but I do have my favorites... oh, and I love fast food too much!
Up until almost 2yrs ago, I *NEVER* exercised AT ALL so I'm sure that didn't help the situation I created for myself *lol*
