I have my appt to see Dr. Savoie. I gathered up my courage today and called his office to confirm that he had received my referral and he had.  I said thank you and the receptionist said we might as well book you now.  So I'm going to Bathurst next Thursday!!  OMG!!!  Am I ready for this?  I have so much research to do before I go!! The time between that and going for the surgery is going to fly and I'm already panicking!!!!  All the same old fears everyone else has expressed.  I've been reading with delight about the shakes and appreciate what others are saying on how to get through those days.  I almost think I'm looking forward to them since I'm so tired of food!!!  I've already learned so much through this site!! Thanks everyone!!

Heh, that sounds like a good idea!! Why waste good panic when you can let someone else do it.

Hey Casey!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So happy for you! Have fun in Bathurst! The weirdest thing, even though Dr. S told me I would be done before x-mas or early January...now is the time where the wait is the slowest for me. It seems like I have FOREVER to wait!!!

Every day I run home and check my phone to see if the hopsital called!! I am so excited that I can't wait even more more minute!

Congrads!!!!

Make sure you write all your questions down in case you forget one or another!

Writting the questions down is what I did. My DH drove and I verbally processed the things I was concerned about and things I wanted to know. This process generated the questions, which I wrote down; spacing them out so I could jott down the answer. In the process I also found out what he was worried about (that I would die).
It is weird that once you start the process, it seems to be all you thing about when you aren't occupied with something else. Time is moving painfully slow. I called Nathalie today and found out that she was on vacation last week ( well earned as she works for 4 doctors)and is covering for another staff who is on vacation.  As for when I will get my information session, there is a session on Nov 4th plus 2 more sessions in November, but no dates or language yet. As for the Nov. 4th session, she has one confirmed and 6 more people on her list ahead of me.  So 3 people  will have to say no before she will call me. Not a lot of chance of that but hope springs eternal!
Lastly I learned that Dr B is only going to have 3 operating days in November. He is taking about a week off, is on call for the ICU for a few days, and will be away for a few days.
