Don't be mad at me, but I was mistaken- Dr. S does not do the vertical Sleeve, he does the Duedonal Switch. I feel so bad, I knew he didn't do the RNY so I figured it was the sleeve.

Sorry to dash your hopes!

Oh my gosh Scartears! I couldn't be mad at you for that. :-) There are so many doctors who do so many different procedures that it's really hard to know what the heck anyone does. :-)

From what I hear, people love their Duedonal Switch, but it's pretty drastic. I'm going to have to look more into it. It's really hard to figure out what the heck to get done when there are a lot of choices out there now.

The new doctors in Halifax do the sleeve, but does medicare cover it?

Yes Charline you're right! That's the only surgery they do actually.
Not sure if covered by medicare out of province- but I think so.

The thing is that they are still doing Dr. Macdonald's old list so I think the wait is long.

I have heard of people getting in very fast on the NS board, but that was a couple of months ago.
