appointments
after the initial consult, you go back for the info session. Aftger that you get called in to sign the papers. after that there is the pre-admission day. and then there are either one or two more appointments with the nurse/nutritionist and/or the doctor. they tell you the results of your pre-admission tests, etc. so that would be 5. I have been to 3 appts so far including the initial consult. I am waiting for pre-admission now. two or 3 weeks prior to surgery you are put on a liquid diet for 2 weeks. the last appointment is just to ensure everything is ready to go and that you are still losing weight. they weigh you each time and if you don't lose, or if you gain, you get pushed back. keep focused from this day forward. they want to see your commitment.

Hi Charline : further to Patsy's post , what she stated is generally the rule of thumb when it comes to appointments except in my case Iam going in for pre-admission on Thursday this week and surgery a week from this Friday October 10.( they called me today) I only signed my papers last friday . Like I told ya things are moving quicker now. It seems i wont have to do the 2 week liquid fast or a final weigh-in because there won't be enough time. Iam losing though with my low carb diet , so maybe they are counting that into the situation. You do have to show that you are willing to lose, that your serious about losing weight prior to surgery. So start dieting as soon as you see the doctor!
