Anyone have any info on the new waiting list?

Has anyone heard anything about Dr B's waiting list since the changes that took place in February? There are 2 surgeons setting up a clinic in Halifax. Hopefully this will shorten the wait time for all of us. Anyone have any info on this?

Not sure who the two surgeons are, but, I have a consult with Dr. Klassen on April 1st in Halifax and have been on the waiting list for 6 years my birthday in May!...

Oh you poor dear- 6 years. I have been waiting for 3+ years to see the endocrinologist, but will stop complaining! If you get any info about surgery in Halifax, let us all know! I hope the rest of your journey goes quickly!

Sad part about it is, I have saw Dr. MacDonald and the endocrinologist...Now it seems that I have to go through the process again

Perhaps things will change in NS. Until recently, we had to see the endocrinologist and hope to be approved by Medicare. Since February 14, we see Dr B and he decides if we are eligible for surgery. Were you one of those poor souls that were approved but the surgeon moved away without passing the list along? I think they should give those folks special consideration. Also there are 2 surgeons setting up a clinic for WLS in Halifax, you may be able to have the surgery in your home province. I am hoping this means that the wait will be shorter for all of us.

Yes, I am one of the poor souls, I am hoping it wont be too much longer after Tuesday. Will let you know more after my appointment then.
