SURGERY COMPLETED!!!!!
I just wanted to update all of you! I had my surgery on the 12th March. Everything went extremely well. I was realeased from hospital on saturday march 15th. I had to stay in hotel in Halifax though due to a big storm approaching. I made it home safely on Sunday.
I am doing very well with my modified liquid diet stage. I am not having too much pain, they say probably due to a higher tolerance due to my back. I am getting around the house well, except I have been feeling very tired and blah the last couple of days. I am very happy things went so well...I would normally be the one to have all the complications. LOL But so far all is well. The Drs even said that it was as perfect as a surgery could get!! YEAH!!
I was weighed in before surgery, I officially lost 32lbs on my own, and I was told to weigh myself on Monday to get a start weight and then every week on same day. I was delighted to see that I had lost an additional 10lbs since surgery. (in 4 days) I was amazed.
I will keep you al posted. Thank you so much for all the encouraging words I recieved while I was waiting AND everyone was right when they said it is worth the wait!! Good luck to everyone who is still waiting, hang in there! After a 6 year wait I can honestly say it is worth it!

Krista, How are you feeling?
I noticed that you said that you were done in Halifax. Quelle surprise!! Who is the new Dr? Will he be taking patients off Dr. B's wait list? Or only doing NS Patients?
I'm surprised that there isn't more buzz on the message board about this!
Keep us posted & take care of yourself

Hi I am actually feeling pretty good. I am trying to resist the scales though...LOL! Who would of thought!
I did have it in Halifax, BUT the program is not up and running yet. I was done simply because my health was getting very bad. I have been slowly losing the feeling in my other leg now. It started the same as my left one. SO I could possibly become paralysed in both legs. Plus my other health issues are worsening the more I gain. At this point I think they are only doing EXTREME cases, and NS patients.
I am not sure if I am allowed to give anymore info then that. They did say that they are hoping to resume surgeries in Halifax some time this year. They just have to get through with all the last minute details. Once it is open They are hoping to have 2 surgeons with there own nurses. So they will be doing only weightloss surgeries!
I will keep you posted, and please keep me posted on your progress too!
