Hi all,I am fairly new here and need to be here to be encouraged and to encourage---I can't believe it is finally here-----pre-surgery tests tomorrow and surgery on the 25th---I am feeling pressured and backed into a corner-----but I remind myself this is for me and it is MY choice and I know I have made the right choice,I guess pre-op stress is normal and is only the first of many tests to see how much I am willing to change-----I read yesterday, "Our lives are not made by the dreams we dream, but by the choices we make". Here is to all of us and the new opportunities of choice and the changes our choices will bring!!!!

Hi KP, I am new,I have been in the process for two and a half years,I am looking forward to having a lapband.....soon,but not the 25th as thought....I gained three pounds, and out of concern for my health,I was potponed four to six weeks,I was embarassed that I had gained, but got over that and I see some positives, had a couple of AHA"S-----are you still waiting?drop me a note if you have time....cheers!

It is normal to feel this way when you get this close . Where are you having your surgery and what type are you having? It has been 8 weeks for me tomorrow and it has all gone extremely well so far , I feel great and you will too very soon!! Sherry

Hi Sherry, thanks for your response---as you can see below,I have a little longer to wait, but am now truly getting my head in the gain(OOOOPS!!!I meant game, but that was tooo funny to correct.)....I feel like I am approaching...a door and getting the band will be the point I walk through it...can't wait to kick it closed from the other side...smile.... I am glad your wait is over and you are doing well!!! Keep up the good work!

BIGGGGGGG Sigh----I waited two and a half years for my date, was frustrated 'cause it kept being wait---wait----wait----Got my date in Dec---for(lapband) surgery Jan 25th and through carelessness, lack of food and fluid control gained three pounds, and last Tuesday on my pre-op test day,was told I would be postponed for a month to a month and a half.Totally MY fault---however I think it will end up being a positive.Although I waited a fair amount of time to get here,Once I got my date it seemed to be moving too fast,It did not seem real until then----Also realised how much I balance one day to the next. Example: I ate well yesterday,I can slide a little today---ooops,bad food day, will have to be extra careful tomorrow---HMMMM,if all I ever do is balance how will I succeed?? Oprah would call that an AHA!! moment........

Hi! By now you should be a month or so post op. I hope all went well. How are you feeling. I have been waiting more than 3 years, just to see the specialist who will apply for surgery. May I ask which province you are from and if it is NB, which doctor applied to Medicare for you? The wait has really been getting me down, as all the world can see from my last post! Wish i would with draw that one LOL I am glad you are on the "losing " team, I hope to join you soon! Charline

Hi Charlene, My date was postponed until the 25th of march---I gained three pounds over Christmas.....the Dr. that did my referral was Dr. Brideau,he was referred through my regular Dr Quinn.I have been in the process for two and a half years. Hope all goes well,I may have a few hurdles yet,I am nervous about the tests, but I put this in God's hands from the beginning and although I keep fretting I am determined to keep putting it there,His timing is always best. Take care,Annie

Where would one find Dr Brideau? As I said I have been waiting for years just to see the endocrinologist.
