Less than 30 hours away from Gastric Bypass Surgery
Hello,
You know you wait and pray and hope that this day will come ... but when it is this close the emotions come and you start to wonder if you know what the heck you are getting yourself into!
I hope in 48 hours time I will be up walking around after my surgery , the rest I will take day by day. It is amazing what you can used to, but I guess the hardest thing of all is the unknown.
I will come through this and that is what I need to keep telling myself.
Any words of wisdom out there about the next 48 to 72 hours?
Sherry
Thanks for the encouragement. I have been waiting 2 years just to see the specialist to apply to Medicare. I recently e-mailed my super smart cousin, who is the head of the graduate program at a medical school in the US, for advise as what I should do- go to India? Mexico? He is looking into my options for me. Of course his first suggestion was to ask if I had looked into my North American options, but we have a daughter in graduate school in the UK and that is very, very expensive. Plus the same daughter is getting married this summer, not cheap either. I know that my health has to be a priority, especially considering my age. BUT I don't want to bankrupt us either.
So, no second thoughts, I'm green with envy. A friend of mine was done several years ago and I asked her if she ever regretted it. She told me a thousand times the first year and not once since. So focus on your bright future. And don't forget,
you have all of us, here online, for support and encouragement. My friend didn't. Good luck and speedy recovery.
Hi Sherry, I will be praying for you to have your surgery with out complications, Dr Beausoleil is wonderful, even with all the problems I had I know now that I did the right thing having this operation I am 80 pounds lighter that I was on July 24th when I had mine. Do not cheat and eat a "last meal" you will be eating again and its true "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" Mind you I am not thin, just thinner. Take care Sherry.
