Krista , I waited a year from my first consult to my info session. Then 4 weeks later I signed my papers and now only another 4 weeks and I am having my surgery. My advise is try to get yourself prepared cause you never know when they may call you . I only had 2 weeks notice , I've only been on the diet for a week , but it is not too bad once you get used to it. I wish you a speedy wait time and just think that it will all be worth the wait in the end. Sherry

That is exciting! I was suprised at how fast my info session call came...even though he said I was VERY sick and would have surgery very soon! I guess I just thought maybe he said that to everyone and that the secretary was the one *****ally knew a timeline..LOL! I actually started the diet right after my consult. He didn't tell me I had to , but I thought I would start anyways. I have a very hard time losing weight. I have been doing it faithfully now for 4.5 weeks and have only lost 6 lbs. I guess I am happy that it is going down though! At least I will be used to eating much less food, so hopefully it will make the adjustment easier. I am so happy for you! You are right , in the end the waiting will be worth it! I look forward to joining you on the losers bench someday soon! Keep me posted! Good luck! Krista

Hi there! I have been going through this process since 2002. I started my journey in Halifax. When the second Dr stopped doing them I was reffered to Dr B. That was June of 2006. I had my first consult Oct 10th, and my Info session Nov 20th. So it will be 6 years this Jan. But I have hit many road blocks along the way! My first refferal in Halifax was lost, then they lost my file...resulting in me not having surgery before Dr MacDonald retired. But from what I see most people have been waiting at least 2 years or more from start to finish! I do believe the wait time is longer now due to long list of patients. He is the only Dr doing weight loss surgeries in Atlantic Canada. How long have you been waiting? Best of luck! Krista
