New to Forum -Question : hospitals outside nb performing rny or lapband
hi Charline my doctor sent me to a dr. mallet in moncton It took ablout 8 months in total to get to see him and receive approval from medicare. He is a respirologist , but with a 5 year wait to get into see dr beausoleil many people won't live that long. I have written to Forerunners healthcare in India many are going there too. I'll post the prices when i get them. Maybe we can get a group discount.
I am on a disscussion board for Ontario as well and they are getting approved for surgury in the US at Henery Ford in Detroit. If Ontario is paying then NB should as well. I just got referred to McGibbon here in Freddy and her receptionist said 3 years to see her .... unexceptable. I will be trying to get in before then. I am going the US route or trying at least. there are Hospitals in Boston doing it i beleive. I am new so not to sure on specifics but i know waiting here is not happening.
I am in Saint John and Dr. Dornan is an Endocrinologist and he doesn't have a long wait to get in to see him. I have been seeing him almost a year now, my next appointment with him is Jan. 10th and then he will be sending off my information and progress to Medicare for them to approve for me to have the Gastric Bypass it has been a long struggle for the past year almost but I have been loosing weight the whole time. I still have my health issues caused from my weight and I only hope that this process improves soon as we all know that a 5 year wait to see Dr. B is not exceptable at all. I hope this helps out some of you who are still looking to get in to see an Endocrinologist because Dr Dornan is not backed up for years at all I got in right away and I was there last month to get weighed in and asked and they said the wait is not long for him. But you do have to see an Endocrinologist and a dietician for at least a year before Medicare will even look at your file for approval. If you want to know anything else about that please feel free to email or ask me on here.
Best of luck to everyone.
Hugs
