FINALLY GOT A CONSULT DATE!!!

I am soooo excited I finally got a call today for my consult with Dr. B!! It will be October 10th at 3pm. I have a 7 hour drive but my Mom and Step-Father will come with me for company and to help drive. I am going to start looking for a nearby hotel to stay at after my appointment! Any ideas? I do not know my way around Dieppe?Moncton at all....sooo...I am looking for something EASY to find!! I am a bit nervous, even though this is my 3rd consult with as many Drs..LOL!! It is a happy feeling though after waiting for over 5 years already. ( 15 months for Dr B.) I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will be steady progress from here. ( first 2 Drs stopped doing the surgeries!!) Krista Cook

Congrats Krista, Moncton is a pretty easy spot to get around in.Just a suggestion,when i book a hotel room,I usually book it through priceline.com.If you are not stuck on a particular hotel,you can pick the area you want and than put bids in (You always lowball at first).Then the first hotel that accepts your lowest,you are obligated to that one.I usually more often than not can get a room for about half price.I have always been happy with the hotels I have stayed in and have never had any problems with priceline. Hopefully it will be clear sailing from here on in for you! Donna

Congrats Krista! Hope time flies for you after the consult. There are tons of places to stay in Moncton -- as you come to Magnetic Hill, there are a cluster of 3-4 of them that are all reasonably priced.

Well Krista, does that not feel good? I was in Moncton on Tuesday for my info session, I stayed at the Midtown Motel not a bad place at all, the rooms have been newly renovated and very clean, it is only 3 minute drive to the hospital and the room was $89 for me and my hubby. I think Dr B may be getting caught up a bit , his staff said that there will be people signing their consent papers the end of the month. That is the first big movement in a year. Keep me posted on your journey... I have been thinking about my session ever since I came back ... I am feeling more ready !!

Thanks!! I am going to be staying at the Holiday Inn, my sister is now coming with me and she is a teacher and gets a special rate at the holiday inn for 90.00. How long did you wait between consult and info session? Did they give you any indication about when your surgery will be? I am very curious as to the approx time line!!
