Help!!!!!!!
I had my Lapband surgery yesterday...everything went like clockwork, Dr B said..the staff were all excellent!!!!!I am a bit sore in the 5 incision area but the real pain is in my shoulders from the gas...Any ideas how to get rid of it...the pain medication does not even touch it...I know it will dissapate in a few days but right now, I am really suffering....Hubby went to get Gas -X at this point I am up for almost anything...Anyway my goal was to be below 200 on surgery day and I weighed in at 196.5...wowhooooooooo...Looking for better days ahead.....
Thanks
Darlene
Hi I have had many surgeries and the after gas has always been a problem for me too! The best thing that worked for me was walking, walking and more walking. The more I could walk the more I got out! It is a miserable feeling and as you said the pain meds do not touch it! Give it a try...maybe it will work for you too!
Good luck!
Krista
P.S. CONGRATS on the surgery, and weight loss!!!!!!
Thanks for the tips girls, I feel a lot better today...even got 5 hr of sleep last night (in the Lazy boy) I took my bandages off today and had a shower...man, that felt good...I am having trouble getting 12 cups of liquids in , I drank all day yesterday and at the end of it...I had 6!!! I am nervous to drink too fast or too much but I guess that will come in time, I had Carnation Instant Breakfast today...never thought I would be excited over that, but I was.....Well I better get going and drink something else.
Cheers
Darlene
Right on Darlene!! Glad to hear you are coming around the bend!
I have 10 days before my lap band surgery..getting nervous!! My sister also said that when she had the gas pain the shoulder, the heating pad was the best.
Sounds like you are recovering great! Keep up the good work, and post often, so we can see how you are doing!
