Here I am!
Hello friends! I had a very rough time but am on the mend now, finally. Surgery (bypass) was July 24th. Got out of the hospital August 20th. Many complications internal bleeding, hernia (didn't know I had) had to be kept asleep for 8 days received 8 blood transfusions, infection, stomach leaked so I couldn't eat for over a week 2 open wounds have extra mural in daily to repack holes and change bandages came home with feeding tube in. Last Friday we (my nurse and I) discovered I had a gauze pad (they call a sponge) left in me had to go to Dr B on Tuesday to have that removed he also took out my staples (I have a large insision from the surgeries to stop the internal bleeding) also my feeding tube and the stitches in my neck where I had the vena cava filter in. I have lost 47 pounds since day of operation total of 88 pounds since September 2006 when I went for the information session. Lets hope things look up for me. Feel free to ask questions if I can answer or help you. Marina.

OMG Mim..... We have all been so worried for you. I am glad to hear that you are finally on the mend. I guess this is a lesson to all who think of this procedure as nothing more then a quick fix. This is proof that complications are very real. You poor thing you and your family must have been terrified. I will keep you in my prayers and pray for your continued success.
Keep us posted!
Best of luck!
