SOL- scream out loud!
I stopped by Dr McGibbon's office today to see how long before I finally see her. Well the receptionist couldn't find my name for a long while. When she finally found it, it was in a pile of papers which were a replies from doctors to a letter they sent out asking if the the person still needed to see Dr McGibbon. My Doctor had replied that I did not because I had seen Dr Solvin!!! Well, Dr Solvin's office does not make application to medicare for barioatric surgery. AUUUUUGH!!! Needless to say, I trotted down to my Doctor's office and the referral was resubmitted. The one bright note is that the receptionist is going to put my name to the front of the pile since I ha ve been waiting since February 2005.
It has been one sh*tty day. I realized today that I can't continue to work. I recently returned to work after 6 weeks off- 3 in hospital- for severe anemia. I am apparently bleeding into my gut somewhere and they can't find the source. I was working 5 hours but I can't continue to do that. My employer will not allow me to do so and I am really stuggling to do the 5 hours. My choice is either work full time, work a few hours a day (not enough money to live on) or go on E.I. I am out of sick time, I can't work more hours that a few hours per day, so E.I. it is. They told me today that there is a 2 week waiting period without benefits and 28 days to process the claim. Oh well...I've gotten through worse and there are worse times of the year to stay at home, but for the moment I want to vent!
What a sucky day for you! Terrible!
I do think you have to keep on the Drs, and all the appointments and times. I know if I didn't call after a few weeks, three times my name was lost, so if I hadn't of called Dr B's office the first time, or called the Endo's office, and then called Medicare (as they didn't send the approval to Dr B....then I would still be waiting!
Now I just wait for a date... lol always some waiting to do for sure.
That is they Key...keep track and call.
