Update on visit with Dr Dornan(Endocrinologist) in Saint John.

Hello everyone: Just wanted to let you know that I went into Dr Dornan's clinic today for a follow-up with the Dietician and the dr himself to see how things are going with my weight loss and so far to date I have lost a total of 24 pounds since March, my next visit with his clinic will not be until September 6th. I was happy to hear that I am still on the loosing side for weight before I finally get the Gastric Bypass with Dr B. It is kind of frustrating when you have to see a Endocrinologist and Dietician for almost a year before even Medicare will now approve someone for the bypass but I guess in the end it will be all good. The only sad thing I found out today for sure with my health on top of what health issues I already have is that I am Diabetic but Dr Dornan says I will be able to control it with diet like I am doing so far and it should get better. I was also telling Dr Dornan that I am going in for surgery this Tuesday coming up on May the 8th for a biopsy and he wants the surgeron to copy hi in on the results for him to review as well. It seems that it is just one thing after another lately I just get so beside myself. I just hope everything goes ok with my surgery and then I can continue on with my weight loss for my bypass. Not to be a downer but I also started out with Diabetes that they said would probably go away after surgery. I just found out last week that now I am at a point of no return. Even after the weight loss I am stuck with it and it will more likely turn into insulin dependant. Right now I am rejecting the meds I have been on and am waiting for a new one. This would never have happened I was told if I didnt have to wait so long for the sugery. I have been waiting 4.5 years and still have not even had my consult with Dr B. It is very upseting and I blame the govt if they took our problems more seriously the wait would not be so long. I am on my 3rd Dr as the first 2 in NS are not allowed to do them anymore. (I was ready for surgery with first 2 Drs consults done, testing done, waiting for surgery date and all) I wish you luck and really take care of yourself! Hopefully you will not have to wait too long! Krista
