Where does one start?

I made my decision to have Bypass surgery and I'm wondering where do I start? I already talked it over with my family physician and he told me to find a Dr. who will do the operation; I hope to get Dr. Beausoleil. I don't have insurance. What next?

Hi, I'm not sure about NS but on pei my process went like this. I told my family doc I wanted it, I found the dr gave him his name. They submitted the request to PEI health care, who approved the surgery and all my papers got sent to dr b. I did not contact Dr. B myself until my approval for sugery was sent over to him. My family doc and PEI healthcare took care of everything. HTH Charity

Hi Debbie, No he is the only one in the maritimes that does it. The wait is getting longer and longer though. Expect no less then a 2 year wait. Charity
