Info for my friends
Hey there everyone...I just wanted to send a quick update with my progress since my surgery of December 12. So far everything is going so well, although I don't like to eat much, everything tastes so different to me now, weird maybe, but helping... so here are my numbers... to date since December 12 I have lost 64 pounds and 10 inches on my waist... HOLY COW!!! I'm so amazed. I have not lost much in the past week, but that is more than likely because I haven't started working out much yet. I have added Turbo Jam to my life and am learning all the steps.. I look hilarious, but its all good, I will get it one of these days and hopefully my butt will melt faster LOL... good luck to everyone who is waiting for their surgery, and to all who have had theirs and are on their way to being big losers too, Way to go!!! Hugggz to everyone for their support and hope to hear from you soon...
Hello Angela:
I just had my appointment today for the first time with Dr Dornan the Endocrinologist in Saint John and the information that he gave me is that Medicare will not approve anyone for the surgery for Gastric Bypass unless you as a patient have been going to an Endocrinologist for anywhere from 6-12 months and have shown that you have lost weight and your mind is set on what you want from there. So for the next while I will be seeing Dr Dornan and his team each month and following a diet plan and exercise plan and start loosing weight prior to seeing Dr B in Moncton. I am glad I am making these steps it is going to be a long haul but it will certainly be well worth it in the end. What I was wondering Angela is how long did you wait until you were finally approved by medicare and as well to get your surgery date for Dr. B. I have many questions but this is a start. You are doing awsome so far with your weight loss and inches. I hope to hear from you soon. Take care and keep smiling it certainly goes a long way.
Hugs
Beth
Hi Beth... first of all, I would like to say congrats on your decision to get healthy.. good for you. As for your question, sorry, I didn't go through that process with medicare. I had 2 visits with the endocrinologist in Moncton and was approved within 2 months. I am one of the lucky ones that didn't have a long wait for anything. From the very first time that I decided to do this and started booking appointments, it has been just over 1 year. The longest wait for me was for the appointment with the endo guy.. after that, it flew by. I had my second appointment with endo last January, then I met with Dr. B in June and had my surgery in December. I was scheduled for November but it was cancelled because Dr. B was sick. After what I have heard from a lot of people, I am lucky... I sure hope it goes just as fast for you, and if you have any more questions bring em on... have a good one...
