Wondering if we have people in Saint John / Rothesay / Grand Bay and surrounding area that would like to form a support group? I am hoping to be banded in the New Year and would love to share experiences with other bandsters. I realize there is a group in Fredericton which I hope to get to in the New Year as well.

I really wish there was one in moncton. It would be nice once I have the surgery.

Hello Krista: I am hoping for the procedure come the new year but I am sure it won't be until later on as I am still waiting for Dr B's office to call me ...my family doctor has already sent all my information to Dr. B's secretary and I have called the office and they do have my information it is just a matter of receiving their call back to go see them. I am also waiting to get in to see Dr Dornan here at the Regional. Have you been to see Dr. Dornan yet? If you have what all is it that he does?..I know he sends the information off to Medicare for the approval and everything and I think he also does the assessment to go see Dr. B with his approval. I am not too far from you Krista and I think it would be great to be able to set up a support group in our area as I know a friend of mine is also on the waiting list to see Dr B as well. Let me know and we can maybe get together or something...Hope to hear back from you when you get a chance.. Take care Beth

Hi Beth - nice to hear from you and congrats to both you and your friend on your decision to have the surgery. Do you know how long you have to wait? I heard the waiting list was something like 5 years now I hope that isn't the situation for you. I've been waiting for 2 1/2 years - I think it will be 3 years in May. I didn't see Dr. Dornan - back then I think the only "lung guy" looking at people for Dr Beuadry was Dr Beausoliel in Moncton. I had to see him twice in a year before I got approved by Medicare. It's been a long journey but I'm glad I started the ball rolling. I saw Dr Beadry for the first time at the end of August this year, and my full day information session is January 16th. The doc's secretary told me that worst case it could be another 6 months to a year (!!!!!) but hopefully not that long a wait. I would really like to know that this surgery will be done soon. It's almost like I've put my life on hold waiting for it. Not the best thing to do, but I'm being honest My email is [email protected]. If you ladies would like to email and / or meet for coffee some time that would be great! Merry Christmas! Krista
