New to this.
Hi you all..
I am new to this and well as you will all notice quite quickly is that I am not too good in writting faitfuly everyday lol. But I do like to read often and I find that this message board is really helpful to me in making sure that my decision is the right one
Here is my story:
I saw Dr. Beausoleil in Feb and in August and he has referred me to Dr. Mallet. I saw Dr. Mallet 2 weeks ago and he referred me to Medicare. I am waiting for Medicare to approve me.
Questions:
1. How much time does it take for Medicare to approve?
2. Am i going to receive a letter at home to say if i have been approved or not?
3. Assuming I have seen all the doctors already, the next step would be the information session?
4. Would it be safe to assume that once the information session is set i can wait up to 6 months for the surgery?
Ok i guess i should stop here..
Thanks for your help
Angela
Hi Angela, I just saw Dr. Mallet last friday so I'm wondering a lot of the same things. I think he said I'd probably hear back in a couple weeks and I believe Dr. Mallet's receptionist calls you to tell you whether you're approved or not. She said I'd be hearing from her. As for the other stuff, I'm just as in the dark as you are but I thought I'd say Hello!
I first saw Dr. B Seven or eight months ago. Then I saw him after month three of my run with the dietician and then again last month after month six. Then he wrote his letter and referred me to Dr. Mallet for medicare approval. I'm at the same spot you are now, just waiting for medicare to approve me.
Hi Angela,
Concerning the time it takes to be approved by Medicare, in my case, it took about six weeks. I'm doing things in a different order: I have not seen Dr B. yet, but I am approuved by Medicare since the end of May. I was referred by my family doctor and I saw Dr Mallet in April. I'm waiting for Dr B. office to call me. I checked with them in August and I was told that maybe they would call me in December. I keep my fingers crossed. Hope this help.
Goodnight,
Pascale
