I now know what PBing is

I was banded July 19 and I feel great. I had my first fill earlier this month. There's a definite restriction. I particularly notice it at supper. It has taken me a while to remember that my first bite of my meal has to be a tiny bite and I have to chew chew chew. Same with all the other bites Supper has always been my biggest meal and the one I always ate with such gusto. No more gusto. "PBing" is no fun; It really did feel like a golf ball was stuck in my chest and, well, enough said about it. Only little bites for me. I've have discovered that there is no one particular food that is worse than another with me. And that's a good thing. And I suppose I am full--but I'm not sure--all I know is by the time I get halfway through my meals, it has taken soooo long and the meal is soooo cold, that I am tired of eating. Now THAT's Cool!! I'm losing weight and my clothes are baggy--woo HOO! ~Deb

Way to go Deb!!! I had mine on July 7th. Not having any problems. Wellllll one itty bitty one - I am having a heck of a time going to the bathroom since surgery. I went to Penningtons the other day and got a pair of my favorite jeans. I went from a 28 to a 22. Everyone in the store was wondering why the crazy old dame was jumping up and down. (I'm still not at the back flipping stage) The hardest part is the "head hunger". My brain still wants to chew all the time. I was a "grazer". Elsie the cow had nothing on me. I'm hoping it's like quitting smoking - the urge will go away after time. So glad your doing great. Think of all the great clothes you'll be wearing next summer. Damn though I hate the baggy skin. *sigh*. Hugs - Carolyn

Thanks for the replies! Carolyn, how much have you lost? You went from a 28 to a 22? Hmmm...I went from a 28 to a 24 I think. I've got so many different sizes hanging around, it's hard to say. Most of the pants I've been wearing look like clown pants, except for one pair. I'd better start digging deeper in my closet! I've lost 42 pounds. It's phenomenal! I can't wait for size 20! 18? I just cannot imagine, cuz it's been soooo very long since I was that size. Just imagine being able to buy 1X at Pennington's and take advantage of all the sales! There's always scads of 1Xs left on the sale racks! I have lamented for so long about being limited on where to shop (Penningtons or...Penningtons!), but now that it might become a reality, I have no idea where to shop! Imagine having CHOICE! Wow!! The bathroom thing...yeah, I'm experiencing that as well. And I find it hard to get the volume of water in. I've also noticed there seem to be a few more hairs around after I blowdry it. But I don't seem to have baggy skin yet...or maybe I do--I'm 49 so the skin ain't what she used to be anyways ~Deb

Hi Deb, I have lost 60 lbs. (26 before surgery). I'm 57 so maybe that's the baggey skin thing. Bet you can't wait! LOL I'm looking good though in spite of my "chickin neck". I started doing deep water aquacize which has given me a boost. I have a bad knee and find it very hard to walk although I'm trying. My wheezIng and panting and rivers of sweating have gone. Can't believe how great it feels. I can actually climb a flight of stairs now without sitting on the top step to catch my breath. So many of us can relate to that experience. In my before lap-band life, all I drank was diet pepsi. Think about it - 287 lbs drinking DIET pop!!!! Now I'm having a heck of a time getting the water that I need into me. You also mentioned extra strands of hair. One morning I was racking the cat for laying on my pillow until I noticed the hairs were grey - not orange. I gave kitty extra salmon for dinner as an apology. I'm not real faithful taking my vitamins so I wonder if that contributes to it?? Anyway, we're doing alright!! Hugs - Carolyn
