Broke the barrier!
WOOHOO!! I'm finally under 400 pounds! I'm officially 397.2!
I had my appt with my surgeon. It was kinda disappointing. He didn't really say much. It was just a followup after my six months. He wrote his letter to medicare and told me that now I wait for a call from the internist who will schedule an appointment and write his letter to medicare as well, then I wait for approval. He asked if I had any questions and I didn't. Then he said the next time he sees me it'll be because I've been approved and we can move to the next step. Then he wished me luck and we were done.
Then I get home and get a call from my family doctor telling me I have low thyroid, whatever that means. I see her thursday.
*sigh* it's always something.
Hey, Jay, that's excellent! Under the 400 mark!
Meh, don't worry about Dr. B not saying much--he doesn't say much to me either. He's a good surgeon and that's what counts.
I hope you hear soon about the approval and then get that date for your surgery. You are fortunate that this surgery exists for you at such a young age and can get this taken care of now! It is SOOOOO worth it. I was banded in July/06 and so far, I feel terrific--losing weight, feeling better, gaining confidence...I wish the surgery was available here when I was your age!
