I feel like it's Chritsmas Eve and Santa comes in the morning. I actually get to chew something tomorrow. Since my lap band, I think that is what I missed most - chewing!! All my life I have loved tomato soup. If hubby ever brings another can of it into the house it is going through the window. (hubby might too). All that aside, I am doing really great. 45 lbs. gone and done with. Hugs to all who need one - Carolyn PS toss-up between salmon or pasta!!

Whoa!! Mmmmm, chewing. I cannot WAIT. I too am sick of soup. Just started week 3, so still soup--cream soup, tomato soup, resource (yuckety yuck) and all the rest. Forty-five POUNDS! WOW! I thought I was doing good--I've lost 19 pounds since surgery day. Can't hold a candle to you, though Pasta...salmon...at this point--rice cakes would be good--no, that's a lie! LOL ~Deb

Eek! Is that the norm? (I am new here and jumping right in) When I read the first post about being sick of soup, I was wondering how long that goes on. I realize that it is different for everyone. I look forward to hearing about people's experiences. My first appt with Dr B is next Thursday.

Hi Krista, I am going for my first appointment next Wednesday with Dr Beausoliel, I have been waiting for just over 1 year...I can't wait!!! Question..Does the NB medicare pay for any of the lapband surgery?? Just curious as some people are saying they pay $4500.00..Look forward to your reply Darlene MacDougall--Summerside PEI

Hi Darlene - no, Medicare doesn't pay any of the $4500 for the lap band. I believe the surgery is actually more than that -- you are paying for the band itself and not the surgery is my understanding from Dr Beaudry (which is the first doc I saw before finally getting in to Dr Beausoliel). I had heard that some insurance plans may cover part of the cost as well but when I checked my Blue Cross coverage, it was not covered. I read on the boards here though that it IS income tax deductible. Krista
