Hi to you all I did my first fill about 5 days ago. All went well. Hubby had coouple of nail bitting moments but he did very well. 1 cc went in. It took about 5 days after to feel restriction. I found out quickly that food can get stuck. So you have to be very alet to your eating/chewing habits. Back to lossing wt which is good. Just wanted to share. Take care. Laurie

Way to go Laurie! Today was my first day not having clear fluids all the time. For breakfast I had oatmeal and for lunch tomato soup. Best of all for a snack I had a chocolate pudding. I am doing very well with my weight. I haven't really got into much exercising yet but I am planning on a walking schedule. I go to have my staples out on Monday. Looking forward to that - things are getting itchie!! You were right - havig the lap-band was pretty uneventful - first day was the worst. Hugs - Carolyn

It's funny - I logged in just now to ask a question about fills. I must be due cause I don't feel any restriction at all......I feel like I could eat like normal right now. Hope I go soon. I can't believe you guys thought the band was uneventfull. I was in the hospital for over 9 hours the day I got mine......is that out of the norm? I was in pain for almost two weeks and a couldn't sleep in my own bed. Am I missing something...lol. Shelley

Hi Shelly - Must be an age thing!! lol It was really no big deal for me and I flushed the pills next day. I had some instant oatmeal the last two mornings and I can eat 1/2 cp. Same with tomato soup. I drink a lot of water during the day, but I don't know if that makes a diff. or not. I'm not sure when I get my first fill. Do you know? My clothes are getting saggy, but I'm not buying new ones for a while. Life is good. - Carolyn

Hi Shelly, Everyone react very differently to surgery. It is truely an individual expeirence. All 3 of my childern were c-section and I was up making my own bed in 3 days. I heal very quickly also, and I also have a very high pain tolerance. Some would call that blessed, but I feel like I get shorted of the oh let me help you side of things, or maybe looking for more flowers lol I am glad I did not have staples. The last time I had them I got such a bad infection it took months for the site to heal and then I was left with a hugh scar. I had stiches that were self absorbing and for the little one there was just steri-strips which fell off in a couple of days. I started walking 2 day after that really helped with the gas and wt loss. My Dr. would not allow me to have a fill till I was one solids for atleast 3 weeks and close to 8-10 weeks post op. I am not sure what Dr.Bs' protocals are. It was frushrating to be told every week you had to wait. You saw the scale go up the go down. The yoyoing thing was making me crazy. But he was patient with me and I with him. So far 14" gone and about 35 lbs off for every. I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!! I have written to a couple of bandster to get advice on snacks and what options for protein there are out there. What I have read thus far is that one of the secrets seem to be eating protein. Keep plugging along we will be slim and beatiful soon. Laurie
