Topic: RE: Need Help finding a Surgeon!
I don't know that there is anyone in Montana that has done the VSG.  Maybe in Missoula?

I had Dr. Rohrer for my lapband and I think he's a great surgeon.  I was so excited to see that he has trained for VSG that if I ever needed, I would be his guinea pig and have him do VSG.  But he did such a good job with my lapband surgery that I wouldn't need a revision.

From everything I've read, VSG is a great procedure.  Good luck to you :-)

Topic: Need Help finding a Surgeon!
Shortly after my last post I was able to get in touch with the doctor in question and was told that he does know how to do the VSG but has never done it. So if anyone knows of a Surgeon who does VSG please please let me know.

Has anyone had David Rohrer, M.D. in Great Falls Montana do their VSG? I'm wodering if he is good and how you go about having this done and not living close to Great Falls.  I hope someone can help.

Topic: New to O.H. website. I live in MT but in WA for medical care...
I was hoping to find some one close to home so if I get my surgery I'll have some support when I get home. Long story short, I was woefully underawed by the lack of care, attitude of the doctor and dare I say it, negligence I was being put through. (they implied it's all in my head and told me to have my self admitted to the hospital if I "refused to eat".)

My husband is in the military so I finally got fed up with the doctors and drove 500 miles to Bremerton, WA so I could get medical care by a military hospital.

Within a week of being here I had a diagnoses of... Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease, Gastritis, Duodenitis, Mallory-Weiss Tears in my stomach, metabolic disorder (AKA Syndrome X). Wow... guess I wasn't faking it after all!

So now I am still here. I miss home. I go to a nutrition class on Friday and they will talk to me about gastric bypass afterwards. I am nervous but I don't see another option. Eventually I will get to come home again. I miss home SO much! Just not the doctors. I can't wait to get my life back first though.

Topic: Any Post WLS- State Employees getting Plastic Surgery???
Hey there!

I'm wondering if any State employees that have had WLS are looking into plastics and if they have contacted BCBS about coverage.  I think it would be a stretch for them to cover it, even though for me it would be reconstructive not cosmetic! In my opinion anyways!

I know there were a few of us state employees on here a while back, I haven't been on the MT forum for awhile, it's too quiet here!!

Have a great day!
