Topic: RE: Any Post WLS- State Employees getting Plastic Surgery???
i was a state employee until I retired in July of 2009.  I am so new I haven't even had my first meeting with anyone, but I do have a friend who was a state employee, had her wls a few years ago, and BCBS did pay for some plastic surgery.  I think she had the loose skin on her stomach tucked.  It seems like there was something else but I can't remember what.

My first meeting is December 9.  I don't know what to expect.  There seems to be a criteria that you need to have been in a physician supervised weight loss program for a year and I haven't so I am wondering if they will approve.  I was on Optifast for 22 weeks, and weigh****chers three times...visits to a dietician.

Have a great day, too.  Rusty

Topic: RE: Billings WLS Support Group - 630pm - City Brew in the Heights!
I have been leaving messages all over the place trying to find information about what is available for weight loss surgery in Billings.  Can you give me some information about clinics, or doctors?
I called St. Vincents and spoke with a young lady a few months ago and it was my understanding that St. Vincent's wasn't doing weight loss surgeries.  Tonight my husband asked me to see if I could find a doctor closer to us in Miles City, and it looks like maybe St. Vincent's has incorporated surgery into their menu for their obesity clinic but I couldn't tell for sure.
I am a participant in the Why Weigh Program and hope I can find a doctor to contact so I can see what other hurdles I need to jump before I can get this done.  I don't think I have a bad attitude, but I have been dieting, unsuccessfully, for forty years.  I won't ever lose the weight I need to lose without surgery, and when I have it I am absolutely committed to doing whatever it takes to make it work.

Topic: RE: Looking for a Surgeon
I have been communicating with his office, but we live in Miles City and my husband wants me to try to find someone in Billings.  He sounds very good, and two of my friends have had him and swear by him.

Topic: How Do I Post A Message to the Montana Board??
I am a Montana resident and would like some information about weight loss/surgery facilities in Montana, but although I am a member of the Obesity Forum  the Montana Forum within that seems to indicate that I have to also 'join' the Montana forum...so I clicked on that and tried to join and it said I was already a member and would need a new email address.

I have been visiting with Dr. Rohror's office and they are sending me a packet of information about lap band surgery.  I have my insurance in place, and I am currently a participant in the Why Weigh Program.  I am very much hoping to have the lap band surgery early in 2011.  My husband, however, wants me to see if I can find a surgeon in Billings, as that is much closer than Great Falls.  Since we are older and will soon be facing winter roads I understand his feelings about that.

When I look on the St. Vincent's sight all I see is something about joining a weight loss group...going to meetings...and participating in a lifestyle change.  Where can I find out what, if anything, is available for surgery in Billings.    I have been going to weight loss groups for forty years.  I lose for awhile then I hit a plateau and get discouraged.  I am tired of being hungry all the time.  I know that only 5% of people are successful at keeping it off, and I really don't want another group, I want the surgery.  Thank you for any information you can give me.

Hi there. I just now saw your post and I'm very sorry you are feeling so alone. I'm a MT native who's been stuck in New Jersey for 20 years. I hope you're doing okay and want to encourage you to go to the main board and the board that is specific to your surgery. I had a duodenal switch, which is likely not what you had, so although I could advise you about your surgery from my years of reading about the subject, I'd rather see you connect with people who had your same procedure.

But I'm always around if you want to send me a PM.
