Topic: Scared in a way, but want this WLS
Hi, Just want to post that my WLS date is 28th of Jan with Dr. Rohrer. I'm scared! I'm scared that I will fail afterwards. I have failed at every type of WL and I can only think that this is my last outlet of hope. Since my WLS is in Great Falls and I live near Billings, can I still go to the support groups in Billings? What can I expect in a way of emotion? Help?!

Hey Diane,
I guess I was wrong. I actually called BCBS about it directly and got the word straight from the horse's mouth. They will pretty much treat it 80/20 - like any other procedure - as long as you use a preferred provider, with a deductible/out of packet max. So great! I'm making plans.......
Muah-hah-hah! I want to lose one meee-liiiion pounds! [or at least it seems like it! ;-) ]

Hi Kathylovesred! I am wondering where you got your information, because I understand it to be that the benefit will pay 75% of covered expenses after you meet your deductible and until you meet your out-of-pocket maximum, which is $2500. So I believe this to mean that I will have to pay a maximum of $2500. PLUS any expenses that are not covered, I'm not sure what these could possibly be.....what are your thoughts?

Topic: OH Events contest: where do YOU want us to come?
The 2007 event year is quickly coming to its end. We've had a lot of fun, met hundreds of people, made new friends, strengthened each other, and empowered ourselves to continue on our journeys.
With the close of the 2007-year, our eyes turn to the future, to 2008. Where will we go?
Our team has analyzed locations, researched demographics, met with support groups, consulted with area professionals for hours.. and HOURS.. and hours! We do this because YOU are worth it. It is our goal to reach out to as many people as possible. But, we can't decide where to kick off the 2008 year! We've arm wrestled, had ping pong tournaments, basketball games and other battles of wills.
So... we need your help to make this decision! We're having a contest. Where do YOU want us to come to? Let us know!
For the month of November, we will leave this post up. Reply and shout out to us where you want us to come to. If you have ever wished for OH to come to your area, now's the time to speak up! Get your friends, surgeon and support group involved!
Simple reply to this post and let us know the area you want us to come to. At the end of November, we will count up all of the votes and we will make the announcement in December.
Rules of the game:
-Since this is a member's contest, you must be a member to vote
-Each member can only vote once for the same area
-Members CAN vote for multiple locations
-One post, one vote. If you want to vote for another location, make a separate reply.
-All votes have to be a reply to this one of the 'contest' posts
-Due to logistics, we may not be able to come to the exact city requested, but we will come to that 'area' as close as possible.
So now is the time to let your voice be heard! Where do YOU want us to come to?

Yeah, I guess it's exciting. They removed a more complete benefit nearly five years ago -precisely two months after I started working for the state. But this new benefit only pays 25% and you have to select the traditional plan during open enrollment. No other plan offers the benefit.

Hi Bobbie,
Any kind of surgery is scary, but I researched my surgery extensively and weighed the risks of having the surgery against the risks associated with staying grossly overweight and WLS won. I will say that I spoke with numerous folks who had surgery in Montana and I chose to have my surgery in Missoula at St. Pat's. They've been great and I stay in contact with both my surgeon and nurse - they are always available to answer questions. If you have any specific questions, let me know. I am two years post op and have lost 127 lbs.
