Topic: RE: Are there any MT State Employees out there?
Hey I'm APPROVED!!!  I had to change my tentative surgery date, because State insurance said I was scheduled 6 days too early to be authorized for surgery.  AAaaarrrggghhhh!  After this slight setback (devastation), I was able to get a date for 2 weeks later.  Someone was lucky to get bumped up to my original date  :o)  Health & Benefits Dept. (thank you Jackie) and the Dr.'s office (thank you Lisa) were awesome in getting things on track.  I'm so happy and greatful to finally have this surgery.  Congrats to Carrie B. as well!!  Thanks so much for the heads up!!!  Hope to hear from other State workers that are planning this surgery!

I'm so sorry you are having such a rough time of it! Just a thought that popped into my head being a nurse I think if you haven't very recently you should get your thyroid levels checked. Your symptoms of weakness, fatigue, headaches might be due to that and you can develop thyroid problems at any time.  I developed hyperthyroid a fw yr.s back and had all those symptoms, was very very sick. Hang in there sweetie, it will get better..Positive thoughts, I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers..

Just a slight update:  I had to wait until June1st to have the physician send in authorization.  I called BC/BS on Thurs and Friday.  Apparently they are waiting for RBH / Why Weight to send in their information.  On Friday they were still trying to figure out if I'd completed the program.  They had me as enrolled but not clear on whether I'd followed thru with the Why Weight.  I explained it wasn't necessarily something we "completed", but that I had been on the program and emailed my Health Coach at least monthly.  How irritating that RBH isn't on the ball, and insurance didn't even know what the program really entailed!  But it did sound hopeful, that that was really the only hold up for authorization.  I hope to know Monday.   I'm probably irritating them by calling, but I just can't sit by and wait for a letter to come in the mail!

HI  I SUNNY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY!!  I AM GLAD TO HEAR FROM  YOU.  WELL, LIKE I SAID MY DOCTOR HERE IN BOZEMAN SAID I SHOULD GO TO MISSOULIA.  HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT IS THE BEST PLACE.  IT IS 4 HOURS DRIVE FOR ME.  I HAVEN'T GOTTEN MUCH INFO. YET FROM THEM.  BUT I DID READ ABOUT A $300 FEE FOR MEETINGS AND SUCH ,  THEN THERE WOULD BE A VISET TO THE PHSYCOLOGIST, DOCTOR, AND I AM NOT SURE YET WHO ALL.   I WONDER IF IT THE DOCTOR IN MISSOULIA THAT REQUIRES THE $250 FEE??  I THINK ONE OF THE HOSPITALS TOLD ME THAT.  I THOUGHT I'D LIKE TO GO TO GREAT FALLS TOO.   THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR HELP AND PLEASE KEEP ME UP-TO-DATE WITH YOUR PROGRESS AND WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU PASS ON WHAT YOU LEARN AND WOULD LIKE TO SHARE.  I WISH YOU THE VERY BEST WITH YOUR PLANS AND HOPE YOU HAVE A VERY SPEEDY RECOVERY. SINCERELY   VAUGHN

Topic: RE: HI MISSOULA HOSPITAL AND WLS
I am trying for approval for surgery in Great Falls.  Missoula is actually a couple hrs closer to where I live, but after inquiring about both bariatric programs, I had found Missoula to be a little too strict for back and forth to appts, they didn't seem to care that I would be from out of town.  They had required that I attend so many of their support classes and pay fees that I thought where a bit excessive.   Great Falls encouraged support groups, but didn't require I go to town monthly to attend.  After my initial consult in Great Falls I was able to attend their nutrition class and meet briefly with a phsycologist, and have attended support groups in my area.  I'm sure there are Missoula patients that this was not an issue for...but it's worth checking around if you're from out of town and can't travel easily due to work, family, etc. Good luck!
