Hi fellow May-bies! My date is the 8th. When I first got the go ahead I was stunned and scared, and so far the closer it gets the more hyped up I get about it! Today I am starting the liquid diet in preparation for the surgery and my hubby offered to do it with me, he is a sweetie. 10 more days till the start of my new healthy life! Best of luck to everyone! Carol

Hey you are still a May-bie even if it is the last day of the month. Jump on in here we are all rootin for you! And as for summer, it will probably be the first summer that I don't feel like I have to act as if I am enjoying it for my kids-if you know what I mean. I love my kids to death and really do enjoy them but going to the pool and doing some of those activities I have always been so embarrassed-not just for myself but even my family. Of course I always put on a happy face and try and do what I can but it has been so awful for many years....... I am so thrilled that it is all changing in just nine more days for me! A chance at a new life-I am soo blessed. I also here alot of people say they stay cold after this surgery so that would be a change if that happens. Soon to be a loser, Julie

Hi Kimberly, I'm from Havre, Montana..currently living in Washington..and was just checking out the MT boards...not a lot of action here. Have you tried asking on the main boards..that's where I go. My surgery is scheduled for May 9th and mine is going to be open. My surgeon says he prefers to do it that way because he has more room to work in and has smaller leakage rate than lap. Good luck with everything and try the main board..you'll get lots of replies. Dawn

Thanks for you reply. I will try to figure out how to use the main boards. I am living in Billings and after I am a year post op I am moving to Washington. Good luck on your surgery.

Hi sorry I called you linda its janet right? I wanted to add my moms a1c's are normal and have been for about 8 months. Also she just had her blood work done post-op. She is almost 5 months out and everything is very normal. Some numbers even better than normal!!!! She also always and especially the year of 2005 had very dangerously high potassium sp? Many times they had to call her in a drink med for it. And it was complication of none other than diabetes! I grew up knowing the hazards of diabetes and always worrying about my mom. Is she going to die today? Sugars were always way out of control. I have been on edge for most of my 30 years of life about it. Now I feel like I can relax. Please dont let fear stand in your way. I am hoping to have the surgery myself in a month or so and I am also scared to death. But I dont want to be like my mom. Keep me informed! I will look for your posts on here. Misty
