My appointment went great!

My anxious/nervousness was quelled almost immediately when I spoke with my pcm today . I had my initial appointment and my pcm was very receptive to my request for a referral for wls and has agreed to get the tests done. He's going to bat for me already and tells me that I fit the criteria for coverage with Tricare insurance. I had an ekg and chest x-ray done today, during my initial consult, and tomorrow, after a 12 hour fast, I go in for all my lab work. I see my pcm again on Nov. 1st, to review all my test results, at which time I will get my referral. He says things should move along pretty quickly after my next visit with him (YIPPY!). Thanks for all your support and encouragement everybody...it really helps! I'll keep you posted as things progress.

Julie, I'm glad things went well for you, and that it will all move smoothly. We have it pretty good here in Montana. Most medical stuff can be taken care of quickly. Especially for you since you're in Great Falls. My bet is that as soon as you get the referral, it'll be less than 6 weeks before you're actually in surgery and on your way. Take Care, Linn
