New to the WLS scene
I am having my final set of pre-op tests this Friday. I have to have an Endoscopy, and EKG, and an Ultrasound. Then I will hopefully find out next week when I can have my surgery. Unfortunately, I will have to travel to Palo Alto, CA for the surgury since I am a veteran and that is the place that does them for the VA. I'm nervous about the surgery, but even more nervous about the possibility of not having it. I am in need of a very powerful tool to help me get on the right track, and WLS seems like the tool that will work for me.
Nice to meet you Rose.
You will notice that this board doesn't get used very much, so if you ever have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I respond to that much quicker.
I had surgery almost 6 months ago. I've been very happy with my results so far, and have had very few complications. I had some problems with anesthesia (made me sick in the hospital) and have had a stricture that was opened during an upper GI. Other than that, it's not been too bad. I occasionally eat too fast or have problems with combinations of foods that I eat, but those are rare and minor.
Take care of yourself, and best wishes to you on your journey.
