Cheaper Protein drinks?

Hello there!   I had my "Start Weight" appt. today with Dr. Baskett. at St. Vincent's Weight Loss Clinci.  Of course they want to start modifying my eating to the 3 meals a day with protein shakes in between.  I am really all for this, as I am very open minded, however, is there a cheaper place to find the protein mixes/ drinks then at the Weight Loss Clinic.  I have to do this for 3 months before we can submit to my insurance so want to be as "thrifty" as possible. Thanks for any advice in advance!

You can get Isopure at Mary's Health Food by Big Bear for 2.99 instead of 3.75 that GNC charges. Bu****ch GNC's ads as they put things on sale at good prices and if you get a membership card, you get 20% off the first week of the month. Other than that, you have to try different ones to see what you like and you can order samples on some internet sites - just do a search. Diona

Here are some sites that sell protein in sample sizes for 99 cents to $1.99:

www.unjury.com www.vitalady.com www.wlssupplies.com www.bariatriceating.com

You can even get some on eBay. I've gotten a few great deals. E-mail some of the protein companies directly and request freebies (mention you are a bariatric patient) I've scored some this way too. That way you can try them before you commit to a big old tub and find out you hate it. Hope this helps, ~Michelle

I find that 99% of the time you can find almost ANY type of protein supplement online WAY cheaper then buying locally. My two favorites are: http://allstarhealth.com http://vitacost.com My favorite place for samples is: http://vitalady.com I would highly recommend only buying samples 1st as it will save you a ton of money in the end. Also "cheaper" isn't always "better". The cost may be great but if you can't hack the stuff down lol well then it was a waste in the end.  No matter the cost it will be something you will be taking for quite a while so having something you can actually drink with out gagging maybe worth the extra $$$. Good luck to you on your journey!! Felicia=0)

I like the Pro-Rated shake mix they sell at COSTCO.  It's about $25/bag, has a huge amount of protein and tastes very good.  I recommend the chocolate - the vanilla is too sweet.

Good Luck!
