Support Group in Billings

I know that St Vincent's does support group meetings for post-op patients, and they've told me that everyone is welcome, even those who didn't have their surgery done in Billings. Does anyone attend these? Can someone tell me the schedule and location? I went to a pre-op orientation through them once, and did 6 months with the weight loss clinic (SUPER nice staff - I highly recommend using them for the insurance 6-month dr supervised diet - I wish my bariatric team were as nice...) Went to 2 of them ( as it was required by their program) wouldn't go back if I was paid. My 2 cents of course... My old paper work has Post Op Support Group Meetings being held the 1st Wednesday of each month. This is from 2006 though. They also have some kind of Open Support Group Meeting that is the 3rd Saturday and the last Wednesday of each month. Again this is from 2006. Good luck! Would love to see a support group here in billings for patience that had surgery from out of town. Felicia =0)

Maybe we should start one? I think OH has information on how to start a support group, don't they? I know there are lots of us here who had surgery out-of-town. I'd certainly be up to the task if I had a co-leader. (Hint Hint!) - Christine

LOLOLOL OK you run it and I will "support" how about that! *grin* I guess we could just start out with "anyone wanna have coffee and chat" type deal lol Ok so it doesn't have to be coffee of course LOLOL. Frankly for that matter I don't care if they had surgery here, there or where ever if anyone would like to get together that would be great. I just wont go to the ones through the St. V's WLS Clinic is all. I'm sure that there are plenty of people here that are also looking for an alternative. Felicia =0)

If you dont mind me asking what happend at the St V's support group. I live in Miles City I did have my surgery in Billings and I hold a group here in Miles City. They Support our group very much so. Just wondering.

I had a lap band in August and would love to join a support group here in Billings.  I also had my surgery in Great Falls and not much follow up from there.  It would be nice just to compare experiences with others who are struggling with the same issues.  This website has been a great resource.
