Anyone in Billings a post-op patient of Dr. Rohrer? If you are, could you read my review and let me know if you're receiving the same sort of care I am? Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

WOW no I can honestly say I have not received that kind of treatment from his office. The Bariatric Institute up there is a whole different story but I have always had a pleasant experience when I have called Dr. Rohrer's office. Everyone was very helpful with answering my questions and getting me the things I asked for. When I was up there for my 6 month appointment, every one seemed very interested in how I had been doing including Dr. Rohrer. The only complaint I had about the appointment was that for the drive time it was not worth the trip as I could have just handled it over the phone but I guess if I was struggling or something it was better to "see" me in person. Not sure I will go back for the 1 year appointment as for a 8 hour day of drive time for a 20 min appointment its just not worth it. I have an AWESOME PCP down here and although she is not fluent in WLS she is understanding and willing to learn what needs to be learned. So I will probably just get my labs run, fax them up there and take a copy into my PCP for her to check over for me instead of driving up there to have them tell me "looks great" lol. I do know that the last time I was up there I was told that Dr. Rohrer is REALLY cutting back his time. He will only be there 3 days a week now with one of those days in surgery. Sorry to hear you are having such problems with them. I know for one that after my experience and the horrible treatment I received here in Billings I will be recommending Dr. Rohrer's office over the Billings Weight Loss Clinic for sure. On a side note... I HAVE received the same treatment you are talking about from the Bariatric Institute part of it. They are NOT an asset to the clinic. Phone calls are not returned, emails are not replied to. TONS OF SPAM but no replies to emails with questions. I was constantly getting the "call back later" reply when I called there and again weeks and weeks would go by if I emailed with a nutrition or other type question that, that part of the office should be answering. Half the time I was providing THEM with information instead of the other way around. Most of the questions I asked there was no answer for which was irritating. Basically I will not bother with that part of the clinic anymore but then I am not really sure what I would need to contact them about anymore anyways. But on the whole I have gotten exactly what I wanted. A no nonsense *doesn't suck your insurance company dry* process. A surgeon with TONS of experience. Questions answered. Treated fairly etc.. Again sorry to hear you are having this type of trouble. Have you spoke to Dr. Rohrer with your concerns? I know Lisa is currently gone but when she comes back from maternity leave you might speak to her about it. Best of luck to you!! Felicia =0)

You got a 20 minute appointment? I drove up there from Billings for my 6 month follow-up and got a 5 minute appointment, plus I had to get a hotel room because it was unpredictable weather and the roads had been slippery. Do you have an email address for the clinic? I would much rather be emailing these people than talking on the phone. I cannot bring myself to call them anymore because I get treated like I'm making their life difficult by calling. (And I'm having real pain issues that I have to wait, like, 4 days to talk to a doctor about because I may have been in the ER Thursday night - Friday morning, call them on Friday, and not hear back from a doctor until Tuesday because "Monday is surgery day". My dad, who is a doctor, laughs at that because blowing off your patients is really not a good idea.) Dr. Rohrer IS a great surgeon. I would recommend HIM to other people, but not his staff or follow-up support. (There is one nice woman who works there that's always sweet and friendly on the phone. I tend to get the mean lady though more often.) Will the bariatric institute in Billings take patients of Dr. Rhohrer? I'm having issues that can't really be handled by a part-time doctor. The doctor on-call for him refused to help me too when I was having a post-op emergency. (I had my gallbladder out, and got sick about 5 days later and started going downhill FAST. Lost 10 pounds, went days without eating or drinking, extreme nausea and pain, and I just got the runaround from their office up there.) I'm sure there are other people who've had fine experiences. I don't think it's *me*. I'm not mean or unfriendly over the phone. I worked a lot of customer service when I was in college, so I tend to be overly friendly on the phone, and am generally a very patient person, to the point where my family has said I've let people walk all over me. I'm just so frustrated I don't know what to do. I've been brought to tears too many times dealing with the office. I appreciate you sharing your experience with me though! What city are you living in?

I do not have an email for the Dr. Rohrer's office ( need to ask I guess if they even have one lol) just the Bariatric Institute part that probably wont do you any good for the medical issues your having. I will PM ya the two email addresses I have. Good luck with getting a reply but they do love to send you junk mail "funnies" forwarded junk. I have no clue if the WLS clinic here (Billings) would help you. I have NOTHING AT ALL pleasant to say about them, so cant recommend to ANYONE to use them at all. I can say that my experience with them was through the FULL process just short of surgery and I regret it COMPLETELY! I was never so happy to go to a new clinic, EVEN if it was 4 hours away, in my life. Guess you could call them and find out. Best of luck to you if you do. I was told by a few people that I ran into through the process, that since we had surgery "some place else" that care here would be through the ER only. But then again who knows *shrug*. After the treatment I received here in Billings my ONLY fear would have to be ever having dealing with them again... Can you switch to a different PCP instead? You will probably get more medical help that way if you could find a Doctor that you could deal with for everything not just WLS. Not sure if that was any help but I do hope you find a solution!! My mom just suggested that. I had been thinking about switching PCPs for a while now to someone younger and more willing to take risks or try new medications. I have no idea who is good though. I go to the Billings Clinic for all my care. I have an endocrinologist who I wish was my PCP - she is so smart and easy to talk to.

If you love your endocrinologist that would be an AWESOME place to start for a referral. Odds are if you get along with her great you will probably get along with someone she referred you to just as well. I would recommend my PCP but shes more of a general practitioner then probably what you are looking for. I use Dr. Kennedy up here in the Heights Billings Clinic. I believe she is actually a PA but would have to look her info up again to remember. I have been seeing here for "normal girl things" for gosh 15 years or so? Felicia =0)

Oh forgot to mention lol the 1 month appointment was about 11 mins long and that INCLUDED the visit with the NUT. The 6 month appointment was 20 mins but could have lasted longer if I had more to say as he seemed to want to talk but I really just didn't have any questions. Felicia =0)

Oh, may I ask who your PCP is? Do you go to St. Vincent's or the Billings Clinic?
