Surgery in Montana
Hi everyone, I have been watching these forums for years waiting for surgery. I am on Medicare and 65 yrs. old. Just recently, Benefis Healthcare Hospital in Great Falls, Montana has been approved by Medicare for GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERIES, I had an RNY Nov. 20th, now home & doing fine. Mine was done by Rohrer Bariactrics, Dr. David Rohrer. I can't recommend them enough, excellent in every way, they really know what they are doing. I live in Billings, but would go to Great Falls in a minute. So anyone with medicare, or anyone else check it out.
Glad to hear you singing praise for Dr. Rohrer... I'm scheduled for Lap-Band surgery with him this coming Friday! I'm getting sort of nervous... and excited at the same time! I'll just be glad when I wake up and it's over! Lol....
I also live in Billings, so will have to travel to Great Falls periodically for "fills"... but it will be worth it!
Congrats on your surgery! Good luck with you weight loss!
Deb
Hi Deb, It's only natural to be nervous, so was I, but down right giddy at the same time from happiness, I had waited so long. But be assured you will be in good hands by all involved there, and yes, the trips will be worth it, hope the weather cooperates. I have to go occassionally for checkups also. Let us know when you get home, your experience will be quick and successful. Jud
Hi Sharon,
Glad to hear how successful your surgery has been.... I have had a couple of "What the heck am I thinking" moments this weekend as far as having this surgery, so it's good to hear someone else is doing so well with it!
Friday will be here before I know it and it will be over and done with and then I can, hopefully, start reporting how great surgery went and how well I'm losing weight!
Deb
Deb,
There are times I still wonder "what did I do". A couple things I found were after surgery, walk alot. It helps with the gas and helps you heal up inside faster. 2 days after surgery I went shopping in a market. I had to walk slow and got tired but did ok. Then flew 3000 miles home. I lived on chicken broth and sf popsicles. I'm not much of a water drinker but did find at Albertson's Glaceau vitaminwater in different flavors. My family now drinks them. They're really good with vitamins. I wish you the best with your surgery. Let us know how it goes. Sharon
I am so glad to hear that your surgery has been successful. My sister who lives in Shelby is scheduled for surgery at Benefis East is Great Falls next week. I am so happy that she has been approved. I had mine in Salt Lake City and thought about bringing her down for surgery here until I heard about Dr Rohrer and the surgery there. My sister said that they have been very good to her with the preliminary test ets. They also are offerring her support when the surgery is over. I am so glad to have read this post. Happy New Year. Sarah
