new to the Montana Board
Hi, guys! Greetings from Havre. I've been a "lurker" with the main RNY board and didn't discover this one until today. I'm well on my way to weight loss, having secured insurance approval and a surgery date (which is August 14). Actually, I'm down 7# from my surgeon consult weight of 245.
I'm really scared about the surgery, but have determined to have it and make it be good. Any advice/support will be appreciated!
Thanks!
Greetings right back at you from Billings. I don't usually come here much anymore since it seems like no one posts here. I did try it, but I have learned a lot from going to the lap band board. I haven't seen anyone post on this board that's having the band. My surgery is scheduled for August 21st. I start my liquid diet on your surgery date. Anyway - good luck to you!
Hey from Havre! How are you doing? WOW, you only had to do one week of liquid diet, huh? That's not bad. I had to do 2 weeks, cuz it shrinks the liver or some such thing... I'm doing well, but I can't eat too much yet. Still on liquids AND purees, like ricotta cheese (which I love) or "smushed" fruits. I still drink a protien shake a day, and try for 2.
How's the band doing? I have "grouchy pouch" days, when it doesn't like what I eat and then I feel bad all or most of the day...
write back soon!
PS: don'tcha love Dr. Rohrer? I think he's pretty cool. I like that he takes time to listen..
you should be 'out of the woods' by now and doing great. check in and tell us how it went.

Marianne,
It was great to hear from you. Glad to hear that you are doing so well. Dr. Rohrer said that I only had to do one week of liquids because my BMI was only 38.6. If I were larger then I would've done the 2 weeks.
I'm doing well. Dr. Rohrer said I can advance my diet as tolerated since I was banded instead of having a bypass. I only still hurt at my port site. I worked for a couple of hours on Thursday and a couple on Friday. A little too soon. I am going back tomorrow because I can only work Monday and Tuesday this week. We are leaving Wednesday to take my son to college at BYU in Provo, UT.
I really do like Dr. Rohrer. I go back to see him September 26th for my 1st fill. Enjoy that cheese, and keep healing!
