Hello!!
New here thought I would pop in say a Howdee Dooo... I have just started the WLS Journey and have my first Seminar on June 1st. Needless to say I CAN NOT WAIT!
I have not been over weight all my life but have found myself for the last 10-15 years slowly spiraling out of control. I have tried just about everything out there to lose it from Dr. Plans to meds to gimmicks ( come on who out there hasn't tried the Cabbage Soup Diet *grin*). And this last spring was my final serious attempt at losing the weight. Again it worked for a while and then slowly I fell off before I knew it I was in the middle of the road being run over by the "fell off" wagon. One day I found myself teaching my son to dial his Dad on the phone. He thought it was a great game to learn but in my mind I was teaching him to dial for help in case he came in and found me dead or dying on the floor. It scared the crap out of me. So I was surfing one night and came across this site and it has changed my thinking for ever. For once in my life I can actually see the key that will help me walk BACK through the door to my life.
I read though my Insurance handbook and it stated that I was covered for surgery. So I thought I would double check and call to make sure there were not any other hoops I would have to crawl though and the nice lady at the Ins. Office stated all that my surgen had to do was send in a Benefit Advisory form to let them know when it was going to happen. TO COOL. I am hoping that means no Insurance hoops. lol
But anyway's lol that is just a bit about me. What about you all? How many Montanan's do we have out there just starting out, in the process or completed? Would love to get to know more of you and hear your story. Its great to know I will not have to do this alone.
Have a super wonderful weekend everyone!!

Hi Felicia,
I had my RNY at St Pat's in Missoula on Oct 25, 2005. I had no serious co-morbidities. I am 39 years old. I weighed 250 lbs then and was down to 166 lbs in April. I don't know what I weigh now because I don't weigh myself (my scale sucks). I've been very faithful to my diet, protein intake and water consumption but could definitely stand to work out more. The staff at St. Pat's in Missoula is wonderful and very supportive. I have not heard the same about Great Falls - in fact I heard that their support was terrible. I don't attend support groups, but don't feel like I need to. Most of my questions are answered on this website. My insurance required me to have a complete physical and get a sleep apnea test (negative for sleep apnea), then they approved me. I was very lucky to have great insurance.
I wish you all the best on your weight loss endeavors!
