Topic: LOOKING FOR FRIENDS AND LOCAL SUPPORT GROUP
Hi everyone! I am scheduled to have a lapband surgery in August and I am scared. I havent been through much where I would be put to sleep so that is my main fear right now. I also fear cravings and giving in to them. I am excited to finally be doing this even though I am scared, if that makes any sense. I am looking for friends and a support group located on the Gulf Coast. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks and hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi, I live in South Mississippi and I have been approved for Lapband Surgery. Dr. Woolridge from Oschener in New Orleans is who I am seeing. Sorry for any misspellings as I am exhausted right now and can barly function.

Hi I am from Hattiesburg Ms but had my surgery done by Dr Avara at South MS Weight Loss. They do support groups in Ocean springs and I think in Gulfport and also here in Hattiesburg once a month. I don't think I could have made it with out it. My friend who did this too used Oschner's in new Orleans but went to our support group before and now afterwards even though someone else did her surgery. Dr Avara is in Ocean Springs. Look him up or google and call the office and they will tell you when and where they meet down there. Hope this helps.

I just came across this site today. I am from Ocean Springs MS. I had my surgery on May 2nd on Keesler AFB. Dr. Layton was fantastic and would love to know if there is a support group. Or just to get with othersthat had the sugery.

I guess I really want to know what to expect. How was Dr. Cummins? I'm supposed to find out my surgery date tomorrow so suddenly I'm nervous. I just wish I knew what was going to happen!

i had my sleeve almost 3 years ago. i lost the most wt 72 pounds. i now sitting at 52 pound lost. so im exercising, journaling, and struggling to loose wt..recently visited my doctor. he reassured me that it was me..not the procedure. im still trying. but i did let the carbs sneak back in..so i will continue to try. much luck. best of success.charlene
