When did you have your lap band surgery and how are you doing with it? I am all ears and eyes.
The more information I gather about this procedure, the more comfortable I will be when that time comes for mine. Will be having surgery at the Infirmary Hospital in Mobile probably after the first of the yearf.

Anita, good to hear the report from your doctor, but I agree with you about finding an activity that relaxes us...I live alone and eat while watcing TV, if I eat in the kitchen at the table, I feel alone!
I guess I will just have to over come that alone feeling.
By the way, did you find a support group? I contacted the one in Tuscaloosa, that is meeting at Barnes and Nobles, the reply was that they are a seasoned group, those that have had thier surgery over two to 10yrs and that it is more of a social group, but that I was invited to attend if I wanted. The person also told me that there is a group called Genesis that meets at the Hospital there on one of the thursday evenings...do you know anything about it?
I am still waiting for a response from Judy here in Meridian as to whether the group here is going to start meeting again. Might have to call her myself. If I find out anything, will let you know.
Wishing you a glorious day.....Sheila (farmgirl 58)
ps, I have my psych eval in Mobile friday morning at 0800...will have to leave Butler at 5:30 am to be there on time....wish me luck.

My physician's nurse and the nutritionist both told me not to read or play on the computer or work crossword puzzles or talk on the phone when I'm eating....to just concentrate on eating. However, I find that surfing OH while I'm eating is very relaxing, and today my red beans are going down just fine!
I did have a doctor's appt on Friday and he said I'm doing great, my labs are great, right where he wants me to be for this stage. I told him I can't seem to eat dense food and he said not to pu**** try it periodically and one day magically I'll be able to eat it.
Now I am full and need a nap!

Chocolate Delight
1 box sf vanilla wafers, crumbled
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 c chopped pecans
1 small box chocolate fudge sf pudding mix
1 1/2 cups skim milk
1 container sf cool whip
** For a added boost, stir a scoop of protein powder in with the pudding. Guest will never know.
mix wafer crumbs, melted butter and 1/4 cup pecans together and press into the bottom of a 9X9 dish. Mix pudding with 1 1/2 cups of milk. Allow to become thick. Fold in about 1/2 the container of coolwhip. Spoonover wafer mixture. Top with remaining coolwhip. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Store in fridge. Best to make 3-4 hours before serving.
It is really good and a nice light version of some of the more high calorie, loaded with sugar treats that will be running around. I know it is not exaclty "good for you" but is better than some things that will be offered. Hope you enjoy it.
