Topic: Margarita- I found the BEST Sugar free EVER!
There is a lady that lives in the town that I do that created a Margarita mix that has ZERO Sugar, ZERO Carbs, ZERO Calories and ZERO Fat.. If you are a Margarita lover like I am, you have got to try this product. It is GREAT! It is being sold right now through a citrus tree company, but she will have her own webpage up soon, when she gets it up, I will let everyone know! But if you are interested in having a Lemon or Lime Tree and want some Margarita mix, you can find it at : www.meyerlemontree.com
I know I have not been on this site for quite some time, but I am trying to get back on track. I have done pretty well with maintaining my weightloss. My surgery was in March 2005, I weighed 240, I am still at 130. I am very happy with my success. I hope everyone is doing great.

Topic: RE: Spinach Salad Recipe
I ate that identical salad in Kona, Hawaii last May at a restaurant where everything was grown in their garden....the name of the restaurant escapes me at this moment. It was so wonderful. I shall never forget that salad or the idyllic spot in which it was eaten - by a most gorgeous park with a HUGE Banyan tree, lighthouse and old courthouse!

Ok I know that I ought to be shot for not updating this thing, But here goes. When I first started this journey I weighed in at almost 550 pounds. Here is is almost 3 years later (Feb 27 will be 3 years) and now say 179 pounds. I have an AWESOME job as the Web Developer for the City of Meridian. I live in Meridian now. I am about to be married (Dec 6) to the best man I know. My previous BMI was 94.4 today my BMI is 29.8. According to the charts I am still over weight but where I came from I am proud of 29.8 ! ! !

Exactly! I was concentrating on raising my legs so much that I didn't even notice that I was in the middle of getting my fill. You don't feel a thing on your first fill. Very pleasant and only lasted 2 seconds, if even that long.
Good luck,
Tammy

Topic: Spinach Salad Recipe
We are having Thanksigiving dinner at my MIL's tonight. Pretty much the only thing healthy will be the turkey...lol. I found this recipe for Spinach Salad, it sounds yummy and I thought it would go well with the turkey. My hubby, his aunt and I will probably be the only three there that will eat it. At least we will have a healthier option to all the high fat, high sugar foods that will be available. Don't get me wrong, my MIL is a WONDERFUL cook. She just has a lot of Paula Dean in her....(butter, butter, butter and then some cream cheese) lol!! Enough rambling, here is the recipe:
1 bag organic spinach
1 quart fresh strawberries, sliced
2 oz crumbled blue cheese or Feta
1/3 c roasted pecans, chopped
Dressing
2 TBSP Fresh lime juice
2 TBSP honey
1 TBS Extra Virgin Olive Oil (cold pressed)
1/4 tsp ginger
Layer first 4 ingredients in order. Whisk las four ingredients together and drizzle over salad. Toss and serve.
Due to only 3 of us (more than likely) eating it, I cut the recipe in half and am saving the other half of the ingredients to make at our house for Thanksgiving day.

Tarbaby,
as one who is 3 1/2 yrs out...the fills are easy....that being said...I was SCARED to death when I went down for my first fill...(I was more afraid of the fill than I was of the surgery....I am sooooooo afraid of needles...) my husband went down with me for the first fill...I think I squeezed his hand off...after that I was able to go by myself...(and it is the ONLY time I can willingly get a needle inserted in me with out having my BP go sky high...) I have had a total of 9 fills...(1 1/2 cc inserted in my 4cc band for the first fill and .2 cc each time since then...) Yes...I did say 9 and other than 2 times when I had a sinus infection/ upper respiratory infection...I have NEVER been to tight...that was always a big fear of mine...
I have just over 3cc in my band now...and have not had a fill since late july 2007... and only just resently feel that I need another very small tweek to my band....
I have lost over 100 lbs...and am able to do things that I never would have been able to do at 300 ++ lbs...Good Luck to you in the future...

Topic: Update & Happy Thanksgiving
I am about 2 months post-op. I am down around 38 lbs (give or take a few lbs). I am kinda stuck in a rut, I am a bit hungry at times and find that I can eat a bit more then I use to. SO I am getting a fill this week. Now this is an idea that scares me lol. I am ready to be back on the losing side of things but that whole getting a fill thing is still kinda ummm scary lol. I am assured by the ppl at my support group that it is not that big of a deal but I am still nervous. I will post again after 11-26-08 and let you all know how it went! Have a great Thanksgiving! Dont eat too much!
