You will be notified by mail by December 1, 2009 according to the general information listed on line.

Does anyone know when the state insurance will make decisions about who qualifies for the new WLS program? I know the deadline to submit an application was September 1, 2009 but I can't find any information about when they will be notifying people of approval or denial. I've put in a few calls to the insurance folks but so far haven't gotten a call back.

You can just show up.
If you feel better about being on a list, e-mail Lisa Branam at Dr. Avara's office and ask to be put on her e-mail list.

Tell her your situation and that I gave you her e-mail address. And the next time she sends out a reminder about the meetings, you'll get one as well.

I had my surgery a couple weeks ago in Mobile and am looking for support groups closer to home. Can one attend this group if their surgery was elsewhere?

Hi, I just had my RNY on Aug. 17th in Mobile, but I live in Perkinston. I would like to start attending this support group since it's much closer than the one at Mobile Infirmary. Do I need to get on a mailing list?

I am going to try and make it to this one. I have to register Catherine for the swim team at the Y this afternoon and how long that takes will be the determining factor. So, maybe I will see ya there.
