I'm 18 shirts now. But not quite there in pants. But can put them up for springtime. . .
I saw somebody was giving them away and e-mailed. But didn't hear back. It may or may not have been the same person.
THANKS FOR THINKING OF ME!!!!!

Topic: RE: Gulf Coast Weight Loss Buddy?? Surgery Dec 2009
Hi Tammy,
I just had surgery on 11/17 with Dr. Lavin's associate, Dr. Redmann. I am in South MS but not on the Gulf Coast? I would be glad to be a support to you

I have three bags of clothes that someone was giving away on freecycle and thought about you. They are mostly 18's (which might be too big for you now) but thought I would ask you first. Also mostly summer stuff. But some really really nice clothes! Let me know if you want them.

Topic: RE: WLS Support Group for Desoto County and others
Kathy, Count me in for Dec. 7th at 6:30. I think It's a great idea to at least meet there that time to figure out what's best for all and maybe just do a little planning. Thanks so much for all your work in getting this thing going.
Topic: WLS Support Group for Desoto County and others
I have just returned from the Desoto County Library concerning getting a room reserved for our Support Group meeting. The only nights they have available are Monday's. I went ahead and booked the room for Monday, December 7th at 6:30. They close at 7 pm but we can continue with the meeting as long as necessary. I really wanted Tuesdays but they are booked all the rest of the nights. I have another location I can contact but wanted to hear from all of you interested to see if we could use this night to get together for at least the first meeting. Then we can discuss alternatives if this night is not good for everyone at the meeting. I have checked into getting some samples of products as well. Please advise if you can make this meeting. Let's get this started.

Topic: RE: Support for Spouses
Hi, Melora! My husband and I will be at the Support Group Meeting this Thursday! I hope to get to meet you there. We decided that he needed to come with me and we're both looking foward to it. I'm praying he can network with some other husbands there.

Hi there,
I noticed your doctor is Steve Weinstein. He was mine, too. I go to the support group that his clinic hosts at Mobile Infirmary. They meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm in the auditorium at the hospital (same place they have the information seminars about having the surgery). That means the next meeting is this Thursday night.
Anyway, several of the people attend are accompanied by their spouses who participate in the support group meetings. It's helpful for them, and for us. I know it's a bit of a drive (I live in Perkinston myself), but it's a very good group. Casey Frawley is the bariatric coordinator who leads the group.
You can call Dr. W's office to get her # if you want more information. It doesn't matter if you are having a RNY or lap-band, even though they have a group for each. People go to whichever group they can make. Many folks have yet to have their procedure. While it's not a separate group for spouses, it may be helpful to both of you.
Hope this helps...

Thanks, Melissa, for responding. We found that forum just a few days ago and I've gotten a lot of good information from it. Also, my husband will attend the local support group meetings with me if at all possible to get help that way.

Hi, Melissa. I think there is a forum on here for family members of bariatric surgery patients. Go under forums at the top and it should be under WLS related forums. He could check that out. Good luck.
