nope. i've been to a couple here in jxn before--they tend to be pricier than garage sales, but mostly really nice stuff. name brands that i wouldn't buy otherwise. i'm heading out in a bit...i'll let you know how it goes. :) if i weren't going out of town tomorrow, i'd go then...but alas i'm going today. at least there'll be good selection, right? (oh--and i do plan to be at class friday) mary

I know some of the girls whose husband was against the surgery were able to get them to some support group meetings and luncheons with weight-loss surgery postops and such, and it really helped them see that the surgery can be a good thing. Spouses are usually afraid for you to have surgery, concerned for your safety, etc. Don't know where you are at, but CMMC in Jackson may be a good place to start. I do no know much about other doctors in Mississippi. DeAnna

I am so jealous of you... I want to be 32 weeks. I am so ready. I want to hold this baby and it be real. I just dont feel pregnant yet. Gaining a little bit of weight and stomach changing. Changing in a weird way... Like my organs are being pushed up. Feel like I am showing way more than I should. I miss you all so much. Gotta get my butt to a meeting...

Hi Terry & Welcome out of lurk dome.. J I know what you are talking about when it comes to Dr. Dolan, I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to be my surgeon… I trust him so much. I’m so sorry you have been through so much in your quest for bariatric surgery & I hope that everything works out for you.. Jump on in with us all.. I’m trying to do better about posting, but I’ve also been trying to not stay on the computer a lot lately..

I have one son myself, who is the joy of my life & the main reason I made the decision to have this surgery, because if I didn’t I may not be around for the longest time possible. I could barely get down on the floor & play with him let alone chase him around outside for a long period of time.

Congrats on getting in the pre-op class in November! Write down any questions you have now & take them with you, cause I made the mistake and didn’t and I forgot 2 big question & no one else asked them either..

1).What kind of pre-op prep does he make you do? The only thing is clear liquids the day before surgery! No nasty bowel prep! I was so happy about this one..

2). Does he place any kind of drain in for post op drainage? His answer was NO, unless you have an above average amount of blood loss during surgery, so that was another thing I was super happy about . NO nasty drain!

If you have anymore question about how things go at keesler please don’t hesitate to ask! ***So I've tried to fix the crazy font, but it's not working, so sorry about that!

awwww, man. i really want to go! but we're going to be out of town that weekend (hubby and i are actually doing a mini-vacation getaway long weekend that weekend). i hope there's a great turnout though! Insurance companies make their own rules. I had WLS twice--both times my BMI was about 45. My insurance wouldn't pay anything. had that wonderful exclusion clause. Now, though, I'm pleased to report my BMI is 25.8 (dammit, i'm still considered overweight...argh.. sorry, just computed that and didn't realize that. i thought surely i was normal by now!) But this is surely better than being morbidly obese. I will stop now to save a rant on insurance companies and the money that they'd save by supporting WLS as all the other problems would disappear (for me the short list of problems that resolved: sleep apnea, infertility, blood pressure, shortness of breath, leg/knee pain). good luck with trying to get them to pay! hope it works! mary
