Hi Southgrim, Good rant!  Sounds like me, lol.  I'm still spinning!  I think I'm done with Keesler.  I don't know if I have the energy to start all over again somewhere else.  I have been working on this for 4 years and Dr. Dolan has had my records for 3 years and examined the scar from my gallbladder surgery and even gave me  the surgery date.  Now he's just decided it's too risky all of a sudden.  Given, the scar is about 20 inches, but he never said it would be a problem till now.  If this doctor thinks he's going to kill me by doing surgery, then I certainly don't want him operating on me anyway. Okay,  I'm taking a deep breath now.  I'm like Scarlett O'hara, I can't think about this today.  Maybe this will begin to make sense at some point and I can figure out my next step.  Meanwhile, I am trying to keep positive, thanks to all my friends on the message board.  Thanks for letting me vent. I only had medicaid and they would not cover it, but I was told if you have both , like you do , they will cover it. If I were you , I would start with phone calls to all the surgeons in your area, on the right of this board they have a place you can click on and find surgeons, It will be the best thing you can do for yourself. Also , do your research as to which surgery is best for you, so when you do get in to see a doctor, YOU can understand what he is saying and also speak about your preference.

Hi Ya'll!  No one here probably remembers me besides Melissa. But here's my update.  I'm 15 months post op.  I was 233 #s & now I'm 136#s.  Went from a tight size 22 & now I'm about a 8 or 10.  I could probably wear 6's if I didn't have this gigando belly lol..flabby & chunky belly.  Everyone is amazed by my progress....even me.  I've been doing ok except I had the scare of my life Friday morning.  I woke up at 4 AM in the worst pain ever.  My stomach was killing me.  I almost cried it was so bad.  Freaked me out & upset me.  I drank some pepto & took some motrin & prayed & it eased up within 5-10 minutes.  I fell asleep in the recliner & woke up 1 1/2 hours later to get my girls ready for school & felt ok.  pain was gone.  I hope that was just a freak thing.  I hope ya'll are all ok.  I have 10 #s to go till goal.  Wish I could make it to a support meeting. I rarely get to Hattiesburg unless I have an appointment.  I am going THursday with my sister to her dr., but I'm there to help babysit her 3 year old.  I have my next check up next month....supose to have pics made there.  I feel for that camera. lol.  Take care!

Well, everybody, Denise and Wally have a girl.  Janie Lynn was born yesterday.  She weighed 6 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.  Denise had to have a C-section.  They haven't let her get up and walk just yet so Wally has had to change 3 dirty diapers all by himself.  He is getting broken in real good before going home.  LOL.  Mom and baby are both doing well and are expecting to be able to go home tomorrow.  I think I may go and see that precious little one today.   Melissa

Topic: Denise and Baby update
I called the hospital, and they said that Denise is still in labor and delivery.  So, no baby yet.  I will call back later on this evening and hopefully be able to post that she has had the baby and be able to share with you all what she had as it was going to be a surprise.  They opted not to find out.  She is stronger than me.  Curiosity or nosiness would have won out with me.  I found out with both of mine.  I just couldn't wait.  LOL. That really TICKS me off!  WHY would they let you get so far in the process only to turn you away at the last minute?  That doesn't even make good sense!  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR  Gall bladder surgery isn't even a major surgery!  Most of us lose it anyway after this.  How much scarring can really be there after that surgery?  hmmmmmmmmmmmm  I know, I know... I'm not the surgeon, but I think I'd just have to have a better reason than that!  They could have told you that the first time you talked to them!  STUPID!

Ok.... my rant is over.  Don't give up!  Do you have to use Keesler for insurance purposes?  Is there another surgeon there you could speak with?  Sit back, take a deep breath, and let us know how we can help.

HUGS!!
